Is there a link to the score? This is one of my favorite DCI performances of all time.

2:39,so thats where Holst Got the Idea for the “Mars rythm”
@ninjanolan63283 күн бұрын
Not quite the same rhythm. The only similarity is the triplet, although that's not even on the same beat.
@nster85033 күн бұрын
@@ninjanolan6328 I agree with you, it's very normal to have triplet in rhythm, also Holst do triplet at first beat but Tchaikovsky use in second beat, the feeling is quite different.

Too sharp, too blaring. If the bass is off on pitch the rest of the group will sound bad.
@felixtdiaz13 күн бұрын
Blaring: yes Sharp? No Honestly, the worst thing about this clip is the note flubbing in the beginning and the just the blares at the end

I'm not generally a fan of scrolling scores, but this was particularly easy to watch since it was relatively slow with instant acceleration. The clef and key signature staying at the side is also a nice touch. Does it take you long to animate?
@felixtdiaz18 күн бұрын
Thank you. I love it when someone appreciates the work behind the visuals. It actually isn't too difficult or lengthy a process. After I write the music out, I export one on a solid white background for the stationary key signatures. Then I export another copy but with the white background removed/transparent so that it's literally just the ink. It's the ink that scrolls. When editing the video all together, I put the stationary key signature as the top layer, then the ink below it so it feeds under the key sig as it scrolls. The bottom layer is just a stationary white rectangle. As for the scroll rate, I try to keep the music around the left center so you have plenty of time to look ahead without also having the music scroll too fast you can't read what you're actually playing. Hope that wasn't too much

Are the values on my two BBb tubas hurt now that everyone seems to be playing C tubas? One is 2/4 Miraphone in perfect condition due to rebuild. Other is B+ 186 4/4. Wasted money?

If you like it then money isn't wasted. As you play more, you'll probably become less happy with it and want to change to C.

I played bass clarinet for this and it’s just this but with more upbeats and a few fast woodwind parts💀 Edit: It did not help matters that our band director took this 30+ bpm fast

Is there a tuba part for this or are you taking the bass bone part down an octave? I'm playing this piece in my symphony and am just taking the bass bone part down an octave, because there's only a tuba part on the 2nd movement I think

The brass writing for the original three films is so fantastic, and the performances from the LSO and HSS enhance it tenfold. I love all the material for Crystal Skull and Dial, but something about those first three have an insane energy to them that can't be matched.
