To be honest, I don't dislike Calling All Engines. But it's not my favorite Thomas movie. There are some parts that I do enjoy. I love the part where Thomas fetches Diesel 10 to help save the airport, and they make the engines shocked when they arrive. I love the songs, the ending, the alternate version of Engine Roll Call, and the script. There are some things I don't like about this movie as well.

I actually remember rewatching this special quite a while ago, and I'm stunned by how high it is on my favourite Thomas movies! For moments I'd include in a potential re-write Rosie Angelina-style (I easily recommend her; her Thomas stories are fantastic!), I instantly thought of a scene where after Stanley finds him, Thomas lays his feelings out in the open for him to hear, and while by no means easy for him given how he has acted beforehand, Thomas allows himself to be emotionally vulnerable so Stanley knows exactly what's been going with him. And then to his amazement, Stanley would confess to feeling some jealousy of his own towards Thomas, having heard about all the things he and his friends have done over the years and how close they all are in spite of their different personalities. In fact, imagine how Thomas would feel if Stanley reveals what he and the others were talking about in the sheds the night Stanley was in Thomas's berth: Thomas himself.

That was an amazing video about Connor, he is definitely one of the best characters introduced in the CGI series and Cautious Connor and Bill or Ben are two of the best episodes in the Brenner era, I will also make sure to have a watch of Connor's Windy Day again. You will pleased to know I will be adapting a Connor and Toby story named Act Your Age. I am looking forward to your video talking about your thoughts on every Thomas character. The merchandise of Connor I have are TrackMaster, Take N Play, Adventures, Plarail, Capsule Plarail, Wooden Railway and Glitter Capsule Plarail.

Honestly the fact that there is only one "C" tier episode is exactly why Season 1 is my favorite. To me, it is the best full package season, with no episode being bad in my opinion. Other seasons may have episodes I love more, such as Edward's Exploit, but those seasons have episodes I do not like/think are just meh. Season 1 does not have that issue, however, that is why I love it.

Great ranking. Series 1 of TTTE is one of the most underrated seasons of the show. While other TV Shows' S1s are hit or miss (Theodore Tugboat had a very bad start on the production/story side of things), there are a few that still hold up today like Dragon Tales, The Magic School Bus, Liv & Maddie, Hamtaro, Shining Time Station and especially Thomas. The calm slice-of-life moments are what makes this a genuine watch - combined with Ringo Starr's tone that really fits the season well (hence why he's my favorite narrator of all-time). No offense to George Carlin (he is brilliant in S3-4) but his S1-2 narrations are pretty much hit or miss, but still has amazing character voices. Here's my rank for every single episode: BRILLIANT/AMAZING/GREAT: 1. Thomas & Gordon 2. The Flying Kipper 3. Troublesome Trucks 4. Off the Rails/Down the Mine (TIED) 5. Thomas & the Breakdown Train 6. Dirty Objects 7. Thomas & the Trucks 8. Percy Runs Away 9. Thomas & Bertie's Great Race 10. Thomas Goes Fishing 11. Thomas' Train (though I think TAB's own take for Thomas leaving the coaches behind is more reasonable than leaving the audience on suspense) 12. Thomas' Christmas Party 13. Toby & the Stout Gentleman/Thomas in Trouble (TIED) 14. Thomas, Terence & the Snow 15. Tenders & Turntables 16. James & the Express 17. Henry's Special Coal 18. The Sad Story of Henry/Edward, Gordon & Henry (TIED) 19. Trouble in the Shed 20. Whistles & Sneezes 21. Edward & Gordon NETURAL/GOOD: James & the Coaches (not bad, but I prefer Trampy's version of said-episode w/ Edward more involved in the Top Hat/Bootlace scenario). BAD: Thomas & the Guard (Not much action and as my friend Yami Tay puts it in her review of the episode, it's weird within Thomas' character in between this and Goes Fishing).

Man, I've always liked Connor since the moment I saw him in King of the Railway. It definitely had something to do with him being a shade of blue and me having a bias to that color since it's my favorite, but Connor once he started getting expanded on did stick to me more because of his character. I think you summarized the kind of archetype that he is perfectly. A jock like character that some are jealous of, but you can't ever hate because of how nice the guy is, and like everyone, he isn't perfect as he has insecurities which makes him more human. I definitely hold Connor in a high regard, similar to you, because of that, and I can relate to him in some way in episodes like Cautious Connor. Like I was in a car accident 12 years ago and I experienced some "shell shock" from that incident as I wasn't able to get into a car for a month without worrying for my safety, and even now I'm still very weary and cautious of my surroundings for when I'm out on the road, which is a good thing and I'm not sure if that's a good enough comparison to Connor's incident as he just ended up with a damaged part and his problem was resolved in only a few days. But what I'm trying to say is that I can relate to him for being cautious about certain things. I too also never minded the design/locomotive choice they went for with Connor, as well Caitlin. Not because I knew of either of their basis prior like you did with Connor but just because I never sought it as a problem. I mean yeah, realistically they wouldn't be able to fit on the UK loading gauge and I wouldn't have minded if they were a more British design but honestly if you ask me, I don't even believe Connor, Caitlin or any of the various American built engines like Philip, Timothy or Marion who have non American accents were actually intended by the writers and designers to have come from America. The way I see it, when it comes to characters like those, they'll come with the character first and then pick out a few design choices that they should go for said character. They'll eventually decide on one and unless the intention for the character is that they originate from somewhere beyond Sodor and the UK, the character in question is still gonna be written and voiced with the implication that they originate from the UK regardless of the basis they might have. Like until Porter was introduced, I think the only engines while were never stated, but were definitely implied to have came from America was Hank and Flynn as they were the only American based characters to have an American accent in both dubs. With ones like Rosie and the Logging Locos where they have different accents in the English dubs, it's sort of like a maybe though they probably were created with the intention that they were built in the UK. And then with Porter, maybe the same thing, but then you have that Great Race Near and Far short where it's implied that Porter did come from America. So, with characters like Connor, Caitlin, Timothy, Philip, etc, who have English accents, they more likely were created with the implications that they were built in the UK despite having American designs. Hell, this fact also applies to a lot of the international characters beyond the UK, like Rajiv, for instance, who's Indian despite being based on a British design. I am so sorry for rambling about that topic for so long. It's something I've wanted to talk about myself in maybe a video or in a post, but I'm not sure if I would be able to get my thoughts out the way as intended. Great job on this video, though. It makes me happy seeing someone giving a character like Connor that I've always respected the spotlight that I don't see many people give to characters like him. Can't wait to see what you put out next.

I really like this video! it put things into a different light and I see these two a little differently, more specifically, Caitlin, that was a very interesting description of her character. Conner is pretty cool. I always saw him as the jock train or the closest thing to one in this franchise and I like American steam trains more than British ones, so it's cool seeing representation in Thomas that's not just a one-off character. I wish they brought Hank back because I think they'd have a lot in common sense they're both so nice and hard to really dislike. I also like Samson, I don't understand the hate he gets that much. I guess it's because 2 or 3 of his episodes are reminiscent of the nitrogen era episodes, but to be honest that doesn't bother me too much personally. And I think his design is really cool too, and he also has a cool brakevan but it's weird how toad and him never interacted as far as I'm aware.

I wish BoCo was the diesel that Thomas Seeked out since Boco was quite a respectable diesel character and one that I feel every engine would respect since Boco was not seen for a while this would have been a perfect return for him or better yet have Edward and Boco team up since the two were pretty much the exact thing that Thomas's dream had like why did CAE make it as if Thomas's dream featuring lady was the first and only time steam and diesel worked together, as a matter of fact, boco was friends with steam engine more than he was with other diesel at least in the television era.

I love watching that movie when I was a kid! But now got tired of it after Thomas did some naughty things to the diesels and started the whole climax and fight whether steamies and diesels were better than each other! Wow, Thomas you need to teach yourself a lesson about what you caused with the diesels on the Island of Sodor! Sir Topham Hatt would’ve told Thomas that Thomas right here caused confusion and delay and should be ashamed of himself! I had it on DVD a long time ago, but not anymore and never watched it again.

The Great Discovery *is* my favorite movie of Thomas and friends. Like damn, Thomas's character arc hits soo hard man and his character is just total perfection, somehow Sharron Miller had a great understanding of his character and complexity..... did I just say that =/. And also, I adore Stanley, he's such a pure character and his desing is just out of this world I have nothing bad to say about the movie, like at all, it's one of the most wonderfull experience I had in a while ; but I genuinely believed that if Edward had a bigger role like you said, it would have made this all ready perfect movie into the definitive Thomas film. *I'm not really a HIT era guy, but either way I'm glad that this era existed at all because if it wasn't for this era, we wouldn't have seen this masterpiece!!!!*

I think it would’ve made more sense if it was Duck as the main character for Calling All Engines because Diesel has never met Thomas til like 2003/04, I might be wrong. And Duck is Diesel’s true arch nemesis, he was the reason Diesel started to hate steam engines.

When you get to "Sodor's Legend of the Lost Treasure", I know one fix that is pretty much manditory. When Fatty McHatty sees Thomas running off with the dynamite and is about to verbally unload on him, BEFORE Fatty can scream Thomas' full name, Ryan is like "Sir! Thomas just saved us!". This right here could catch Fat Boy off guard, and hears everyone out as they explain that the dynamite was prematurely ignited. However Thomas cuts in and tries to take full blame, saying he forgot to warn Ryan about the bad coal he took that caused sparks to go off. However as he prepares for verbal impact, Fatty firmly but fairly says "I see. Well I suppose its better to loose the dynamite than loose an engine or workman.", acknowledging that Thomas was not fooling around this time, but despite not being scolded this time, Thomas still feels like shit cause he caused so much trouble. Then maybe later have a scene of Gordon sadly confessing to the Fat Controller that he instigated the Knapford incident and humbly asks to take Henry's goods work while Henry takes the express out of remorse. Fatty sternly but firmly says "Very well, Gordon.", and sends him off. However Fatty can't help but feel concerned about Thomas, and the two talk things over as Thomas feels awful for all the shit he caused in a desparate attempt to 1-up Ryan, feeling like he doesn't matter anymore, and tells Fatty about Sailor John and how he unintentionally caused him to pursue the treasure. Fatty goes into "Now's not the time to moan." mode and instructs Thomas to stakeout at Knapford, leading to the big chase.

I think the last time I watched "The Great Discovery" James starts off being happy going with Thomas to the Wharf, then smug and uninterested when Stanley starts bonding with him and the rest of The Steam Team engines, angry after Thomas ruins the construction of Great Waterton, but cares about him once he goes missing. The fact that Duncan sent Thomas onto a death trap has me dying! 😂🤣😈 Shows us how bad@$$ he can be... For some reason Duncan always got the most correct writing for the HIT Entertainment SKR episodes. The trope of Thomas not getting along with new engines (not always) soon got annoying in later movies and episodes like "Heave ho Thomas", "Engine of the future", MIR, SLOTLT, TGR and the BWBA movie. l:( The movie does have learning segments like "Calling all engines", but they were separated as a bonus feature. Sharon Miller wrote this movie?
