Now that’s an interesting idea! I would’ve loved to see Duck in a lead role, as he’s my 4th favorite character, but unfortunately Hit wouldn’t allow it. But hey we the fans can always fix that :)

Diesel was already believing that diesels are superior to steam engines before he met Duck and could already have planned to show The Fat Controller what diesels can do to bring more in and replace steam.

@@moonlightrider24 I have ideas to fix TATMR. 1. Keep Sodor Real: Sodor and Shining Time will be in the same universe, instead of Sodor being in a bubble. Instead of being wooden figures, the humans on Sodor will be live action, just like the humans at Shining Time. The engines at Shining Time will have faces so that they can interact with the humans more often, especially Lady so she and Burnett Stone can interact more instead of Burnett talking to a lifeless engine like a crazy person. The Magic Railroad itself will ONLY be a 5-minute shortcut for the Conductor family to travel back and forth from Shining Time to Sodor. 2. Make Thomas Really Useful: Instead of Mr. Conductor, Thomas will be the one to look around the island to find the source of the gold dust while Mr. Conductor keeps the railway running on time for Sir Topham Hatt. However, he will often need Mr. Conductor and Lily to drive him when he doesn't have his driver or fireman. 3. Have Other Characters in the movie: The characters from Thomas & Friends Seasons 1-7 will appear, The Railway Series characters and the characters from Shining Time Station TV show that never appeared in the original movie. This idea of having this take place after the classic series is because of David Mitton's modeling work on the series. Also, the characters from the books that never appeared in the TV show will appear in the movie because why not? 4. Make Gordon Mature and Kind: The only problem I had with TATMR was how rude Gordon was towards Thomas. James will be the only character to tease Thomas and Gordon will stick out for Thomas by blackmailing James. So, Thomas and Gordon will get along fine. Just like their alliance they formed: "United we stand, together we fall. You help me and I help you". 5. Make the human characters good: Lily and Burnett Stone are the heart and souls of the movie, however they both need good characterization and motivations. We'll start with Lily; After her grandma Tasha's passing and finding out that she's going to have a baby brother, Lily isn't really happy about everything happening at once and not used to things changing, but she has to cope with the changes and Keep Moving Forward. Burnett will be less depressed and will always have a smile on his face whenever he sees Lily or any other member of his family. However, he won't always be happy when ever P.T. Boomer is around. 6. Keep Boomer in the movie: Instead of being an annoying bully, P.T. Boomer will be more threatening and more serious. Like I said, Lily will need motivation to go with Junior to Sodor. So, the good reason for Lily to go with him is because of Boomer trying to interrogate her on where Lady is. And that will be when Junior appears to save Lily. Boomer will also have ownership of Diesel 10, Splatter and Dodge, who he sends to Sodor to find Lady, because Boomer knows that she would either be there or Shining Time. 7. No Special Coal: In the movie, Thomas clearly said "Special ISLAND of SODOR coal", NOT Welsh coal. So, the coal Thomas takes to the Magic Railroad is NOT Welsh coal, it's SODOR coal! (In case you didn't notice) 8. Blue Bird: I like to think the real reason why Lily has the little blue bird plush is because Grandma Tasha gave it to her before she died. 9. Keep Diesel 10's original story: Don't @ me on this, but I like the original idea of Diesel 10 being a new diesel on Sodor. Because the final cut with him "back" seemed out of context. Like I said, Diesel 10, alongside Splatter and Dodge, will be sent to Sodor by Boomer to find Lady. However, Diesel 10 never met Lady and doesn't know how to find her. So, he came up with the stupid idea of destroying all the buffers on Sodor. And that's when George the Steamroller comes in. 10. Give George Character Development: As we all know, George is a bad-tempered Steamroller who hated railways. However, he will have the redemption arc he never gotten in the final cut. 11. How To Stop Being Stupid (get it?): OK! This is where we get the stupid stuff out from the movie, the sentient rabbit, the talking tumbleweed, humans talking to dogs, Diesel 10 sneaking powdery stuff into random places for no reason, Thomas appearing on top of Muffle Mountain for no reason, Mr. Conductor talking to inanimate objects, Mr. Conductor on a wild goose chase in the woods while eating veggies, and Mr. Conductor breaking the fourth wall!!! 12. Keeping Some Old Concepts: The original backstory of Boomer crashing Lady. In the original script, Lily's dad is Hispanic, so that would make Lily half American and half Hispanic. Boomer as the main villain. George's redemption arc. The old station near the buffers that led to the magic railway. Lily and Patch married and have their own son and daughter in the future. 13. Lady's Basis: Lady will be based on the Great Western Railway 101 Class Tank Engine, except shorter and with well tanks instead of side tanks. 14. Timeline: This will take place in 1999, from May 4th to May 7th. And on May 18th, 2019, 20 years later. 15. The End: Boomer will be arrested by the Sodor Police for property damage and attempted murder. Sir Topham Hatt keeps Diesel 10 on Sodor and made him the railway's 10th Diesel. Splatter and Dodge stay on the railway too, but now owned by Burnett and Lily to do goods work on the line where the old station is reopened alongside Lady who runs the passenger services. 20 years later, Lily and Patch get married and have their own son and daughter. And that's it, we did it.

@@dylanlyles9453 Uh, no offense but Diesel 10 is fine as a evil villain on his own and plans of diesel domination on Sodor and The Fat Controller would most likely send him away for the trouble he caused instead of keeping him like he did with bad Mainland diesels. Also, Gordon is in character by being boastful and disrespectful towards small engines. But I do like most of your ideas like keep Sodor real though. Just stating my thoughts and although you may disagree, I hope you understand what I'm saying just the same.

Good question! I didn’t even think about that. Seeing the windmill in such a story could also serve as another representation that everything we know about Thomas, especially classic Thomas, was torn down and had to be built up again, and the dream song is interesting in concept and could’ve made the scene a bit creepier and more interesting but I kinda like it as is but then again maybe it’d be more engaging and less on the nose since not everything is being narrated but instead told through song? Idk. Great question though! Hope this was the answer you were looking for

@@moonlightrider24 Here is a little subplot you could add to the rewrite: Bulgy and George laughing and mocking the steam engines and diesel engines during their arguments and the Fat Controller tells off his engines after their big fight and tell them that the railways will be ripped up, road vehicles will takes over and all the steam and diesel engines will be scrapped. Because of their remarks, most of the engines stops talking to most of the road vehicles (Bertie, Trevor, Terence, Caroline and Elizabeth).

'Arry and Bert deserves to appear in the series as recurring antagonists which includes the HIT era so as much as we like to see Splatter and Dodge in Calling All Engines and the HIT era, replacing 'Arry and Bert won't do. No offense.
