10:04 Hey, that model is one of my laptops! It is still shockingly useful in 2024, I did almost all of my python coding assignments on it. I also did some heavier tasks like GIS and gaming! Older games still work reasonably well on it! Browsing and KZfaq worked flawlessly as long as video playback was kept to 720P!

X201T is good, but why not X200T? The cpu uses Core 2 Duo, which doesn't have any kind of backdoor stuff with the cpu, and it even supports the libreboot, which decreases the boottime and improves the security!

Do you even talk about Chromebooks? It’s even worse.💀 Chromebooks are basically a netbook of 21st century, it was contributed to e-waste, if not with “new” laptop for $100 - 500.☠️☠️ That’s my opinion, so either take it with a grain of salt or move on.

I dont know why people think that anything that we do today requires a recent computer. Tasks like editing documents, browsing, calling didn't get that much more demanding. In fact I am able to edit videos on a 14 year old laptop although admittedly it was very slow and currently my gaming pc is a 10 years old system and demanding games like Microsoft flight simulator are really enjoyable.

Recently found, there was a security vulnerability for every Windows version, that if you even connect to the internet, just from your Wifi card, you can get hacked. The security vulnerability can be bypassed by using ethernet, or updating to the latest update by Microsoft. Windows 7 and 8.1 recently ended support last year, so they can't be updated to the new security update.

I bought a T420 and want to upgrade it no matter what the costs . It's in mint condition. I love this machine so thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with Linux though. Might be an option in future.

Thanks for showing love to the Panasonic Toughbook. It is an under-rated laptop, after Thinkpad, although I've never owned one - I respect it for sticking to their original design, unlike Thinkpad under Lenovo.

One time I was downloading a music on my Gaming PC with Ryzen 5 by converting YT videos to mp3 and that time my CPU was acting like a Celeron as KZfaq was being freezy and slow for no reason. Now KZfaq is working fine.

I’m installing Windows 11 MBR for Legacy BIOS on my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro as I’m watching 🤣 also, did it on my retina with UEFI by mistake, late 2012 MBP Pro Retina to be exact, post bootcamp drivers install in windows I’d get all sorts of blue screen errors. Managed to fix them by allowing windows to update drivers by itself after a fresh clean local reinstall from the Repair screen after a few blue screen fails in a row, managed to take the Apple Control Panel program from System32 while it wasn’t blue screening it, copied it off to a USB so post windows reset / reinstall, I somehow had my Wi-Fi driver and everything started updating through windows, placed the Apple control panel back in System32 to enable right click trackpad support AND IT WORKED! Hope this helps anyone who reads it

Interesting HP laptop, I see how of a peak HP was, I have the HP Pavilion G7-2269wm and it has really loud speakers thanks to Dolby advance audio, anyways its a pretty good laptop but it does need a new battery & keyboard but asides that, its rocking 500GB HDD drive. AMD A8-4500M, 6GB of ram, and most importantly how big it is.

You have a very good point about them just being made as a quick money grab the only reason a person should have one of those if they get it given to them or for really cheap and are going to use it for a custom project by one of them people that would get away raspberry pi project using a Celeron instead

Yes, but SSDs are not foolproof. They can have electron drain after time, and they too have a re-write life. After five or six years, the components in a pc are shot anyway, so you take a big chance when buying a used one.

T420 was the finest 14” thinkpad ive owned, i did the 2560x1440 upgrade but kept the i5 dual core. It gamed poorly including web graphics and even with my gtx 960 egpu at the time, but as a high-dpi desktop workspace fitting multiple browser windows, pdfs, documents, and explorer windows I was more productive with my T420 than any of my prior machines. The 7-row and palmrest on T420 were perfect for me, to date T420 was my greatest typing platform. I enjoyed watching my blu rays on it with the optical drive.

No need to scoff whit the Lonovo company. The iPad you're talking about has long since been thrown into the trash. Update is disabled. The battery is only put in for service if it hasn't broken yet. Lenovo engineers tried to design a notebook that would work for 20 years. They succeeded. It was not made for those who want to play Candy Cras and whine that it doesn't fit in their bag. Well, because of such needs, expandable devices have almost completely disappeared from the market. Slowly, every year you can throw everything away and buy a new one, for you can take a selfie with it.
