I've really appreciated your videos. I've gotten better information from them than I did from the vet I took him to that diagnosed it. I've been able to greatly reduce my kitten's ringworm infection and to keep it from spreading this last week and keep my older cat from contracting it because of your posts. Thank you so much.

I’ve dealt with and am dealing with kittens who have Ringworm and cat flu. The first ones I tried the Lime Dip, creams etc. with no results. I came across on KZfaq concerning using Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. I wiped them down with it once a day as well as putting it in their water to drink. It was cleared up and gone within two weeks. One thing I noticed is one can tell if they still have active Ringworm by how your hand feels when you pet them. It feels just like little pinpricks, as though something is trying to get into your skin. The kittens I have now I’m doing the coconut oil as well as Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. Plus natural pet Antibiotics. One thing I’ve noticed and makes it nice is the coconut oil reveals where the ringworm sores are so one doesn’t have to shave the whole cat. I did the shampoos for two months with the first kittens and after no results and traumatized cats I decided not again. They will get a bath…after the ringworm is gone and the sores are healed.

My vet said I can use a sponge to spot treat the lesions with lime sulfur dip. My cat only has one area with lesions (the area is shaved too). I would prefer not to dip him because his fur does not really dry. It takes over 6 hours due to his thick undercoat.

Hi. I am struggling with 2 kittens that were dumped on the roadside. One is just weaned and has quickly advancing hair loss. The 2nd kitten is a bit older and definitely has ringworm all over. I have 6 other rescues and live on a fixed income in the Caribbean. I cannot afford a vet now, but need something fast. I looked for the Lime sulphur dip, Keto vex shampoo, but not even carried by local petshops. Please, is there anything i can purchase over the counter that i can at least begin treatments with?

I found 2 tiny kittens that were discarded. The youngest one was still nursing (now fully weaned) but has missing fur around her face, neck and tail. The 2nd kitten was already weaned but he has it all over. I have 6 rescues i must be very careful with and just cannot afford a vet at this time. I looked for the Lime sulphur dip, the keto shampoo but couldn't find it. I had used organic apple cider vinegar in the past with success. So i have started dabbing diluted solution all over twice a day. I checked for any physical reactions and both are fine. I am in the Caribbean and those products just are not available here. If you can suggest something over the counter it would help much. Thank you😊

Does anyone give their indoor cat ringworm? I caught ringworm about 3 weeks ago, treated it with Lamisil. Today I just noticed my cat has a small spot on her ear, and my husband has a few spots on his arms. While my ringworm spots are all healed up, no more itchiness and their ordeal just begin . Is it possible that I gave my pet ringworm?

Hello and thank you for the information here. I live in Puerto Rico and moved to a small apt in a area used for dumping dogs and cats. In the last 5 days i have found 2 kittens that were discarded. One i m bottle feeding (looks to be a week old and the 2nd is weaned). The 2nd kitten has what appears to be a very bad case of ringworm. I have him isolated because it is bad. I have a fixed income and cannot afford vet now. My question is, WHAT CAN I USR TO BRGIN TREATING THE LITTLE GUY? Over the counter or some topical dip i can get at a pharmacy would allow me to begin treating him. I have issues with clear communication so please forgive the long comment😊

I have been curing my cat that has ringworm for mor than 2 months at first i was so scared that me and my family will get ringworm and i used to leave my cat alone at a room for days ofc i used to feed her daily and i used to take care of her but then I noticed she got so sad and emotional and depressed! I got kittens with ringworm in Jan and the three dogs plus me got it. The entire house go infected. I worked in incredibly hard to get rid of it, all of us got meds. Tonight, I see the boys have it again! Looks like early stages and I tried the light and there's little glow spots , still very few So vet tomorrow Will ringworm also glow I'm the environment? thank you for this. i live on a farm and people drop off cats all the time and we have a number of farels in the woods also. over the past 9 months ive found 3 different litters of kittens. a group of 4, 3 and 2. so far this weeks Ive lost 3. we didn't know what was going on and couldn't get into the vet so today I took the forth one to the ER and he was confirmed to have distemper. we were in the process of getting them all fixed and vaccinated in groups. 3 last year 2 last month and 2 last week, but I guess it wasn't fast enough 😓 I don't even know how they got it, they've been inside cats since I found them around 8 months ago 😔 what sucks is the one who died last night and the who's sick now just got fixed and vaccinated last month 💔 Goldy, Crunchy, Beans and Munchie

Great video overall... though your understanding of probability and statistics used in clinical studies is pretty shocking. That first study you presented showed no significant difference between treatments, because there were too few cats involved to be confident that the result was not down to pure chance.

You just gave me total relief 😊dealing with an outsider that comes over and loves mingling with my insiders/outsiders and noticed she had ringworm. They also rub and play together so ya fun times now.

My cat has a quarter sized bald spot on his neck in the front. Took him to vet, they barely looked at it and said, ringworm. Didn’t look at him with a black light or took a culture. The spot appeared a day after he snuck some ground beef that had a good amount of onion and garlic that I’d left out to cool before putting in fridge. I was also about 2 weeks late in giving him flea medication, he’d only had one treatment in his life after being an outdoor cat and I know it can take about 3 months for the full cycle of fleas to die out so I thought maybe he had a flea bite and he had an allergic reaction so he scratched off the hair. Told vet all this and didn’t consider any of it. They gave him antibiotics, something for allergies and ringworm medication. I just didn’t trust the diagnosis because they did no testing. I don’t have anything on my skin, neither do my other 2 cats. I bought this exact blacklight from Amazon and his skin is not glowing at all, except for a little dust and dander on his fur that glows blue. He has been on oral medication for 5 days now so not sure if that could be why he doesn’t glow but I imagine if it is ringworm that it would still be glowing til it completely goes away. I also called around 8 vets cause I was wondering if I should get a second opinion and none of em said they would check with a blacklight or do a culture. So weird they can all give diagnosis of ringworm without any testing.

Thank you very much. I love your enthusiasm for helping cats. I have a question, I have been having jock itch, a type of infection that is caused by ringworm. I have 2 rescued cats who have been living with me for at least 18 months so I suspected maybe I got it from one of my cats, especially that we share bed. I bought a cheap 365NM Ultraviolet Flashlight Blue Light to diagnose my cats. But I am not seeing any glowing patches per say, and no hair lose. Although one of my cats sheds hair more than the other, and have a brittle hair while the other is silky and shiny. Now my question is do you recommend I should go ahead and apply antifungal cream to the cats anyway? Also is dusting powder with clotrimazole that I've been using for myself safe for cats? Any tips would be helpful. Thanks again on behalf of all cats!

How do you disinfect colored bedding & similar items msde of colored fabric?

Been I cat rescue for 11 years this year and I have never seen so many cats coming up with Pan or Calici. We do trapping and foster for 11 years and I have to say that the past 2 and a half years all the diseases are way worse then they ever have been. We took in 19 kittens from a trapping area we were only able to save 5, 16 of these had pan and 2 had calici we only managed to pull 2 through pan and the others that had calici, a lot of sleepless nights but so worth it when you look at their faces and seeing them play. It's a horrible job but at least you can try and save them. We have cleaned but after having pan we stop fostering for a year, and we clean everyday with the strongest things we have always used that always give signs of working. My cats got ringworm after went for a grooming (vet suggestion due to my cat got ear mite and dandruff however not that severe) after the grooming my cat was infected with ringworm, took my cat to a different vet, got a very good explanation and treatment. Not that scared but still freaking out especially my mom. So thank you so much for the video. It really helps me a lot.

Very helpful and informative! I just started fostering and my little boy (litter of 5) got exposed to ringworm on his hind foot. He's been treated now for three weeks (oral med, topical cream, and anti fungal shampoo) and looks so much better but still has glowing on the very tips of his hair around the spot. I'm debating if he can be reintroduced to his siblings yet or if I need to wait another week (maybe lol). Fortunately none of the siblings nor my residents cats have shown any signs

If even the person narrating this tutorial is out of breath and sighing by the end of the video, I am having a hard time believing that any typical human being is able to endure such a daunting and exhausting task. I for one, don't have the mental fortitude to do it without paralysing in fear I've missed a spot or am doing something wrong. Might as well just move places. Also, my cat just died from panleuk he caught in the hospital, and I have been isolating and keeping my other cats at home in quarantine to this day in separate divisions. I have already given them food from bowls that were used in the infected cat, after a 75ºc wash in the dishwasher, because the internet said it was fine, only to find that there is no evidence to support this and that now my other cats are most likely infected. The amount of misinformation on the internet for such a deadly virus is so ridiculous and unnerving, that even my vets are giving us conflicting information. How can someone even begin to have hope in saving cats when we don't know what ACTUALLY works? Disheartening.

Thanks for your video! My kitten has been on oral treatment for a week. I know you mentioned contagiousness would stop after one week if doing the baths but does it apply to oral medication as well? I’m quarantining him but it’s killing him to be so lonely and away from me for extended time during the day and no socialization from my other two cats.

Accelerated hydrogen peroxide is not available where i live. Is 6% hydrogen peroxide will also work??also dettol is used here the most. Does it kill the fpv? My 6 month old kitten just passed away from virus within 3 days of showing symptoms. I cant cope with the grief while i need to disinfect the house

My kitten’s claws (the nails themselves) are glowing the green color under a black light. I can’t find any information online about their actual nails glowing green. Plenty of info about bald spots and I do see some green hairs on his paws, but I’m at a loss over his actual claws glowing. Does this mean the ringworm is in his nail?
