I recently bought the Renault Mégane, the mid range Techno version- absolute delight. Best car I have ever driven. And, here in France, with the government grant, it costs me €300 a month, about £255. Hardly expensive as the reviewers allege. Plus I get a combined total of €1300 from Renault and a tax break on my home charger. Great car, great deal.

Well I am the guy you're looking for. I put deposit down on a Lotus Emira two years ago, and went to take delivery a couple weeks ago. After driving It, I decided it wasn't enough to pull me away from my existing sports car. But oh my goodness, seeing and driving the Lotus Eletra was amazing! I put down the deposit and that is the Lotus I am buying.

The 2013 ST I bought 11 years ago. Has full bolt ons, a 91 octane(US) tune, Ford track springs and a Quaife LSD. 263 at the wheel and 326 ft.lbs. 111,000 miles and still using the factory clutch. More fun than I deserve.

Cayman R cost 3 times as much on the used market as the non R model with same engine and same horse power... If you buy new then buy GT, R or similar as they will tripple or more in value if you sell them later compared to the regular models.

I just found out today (the GTS hybrid unveiling) that this car actually uses an armored box with a spinning flywheel to store the state of charge, instead of using batteries. So here i am just wanted to see how it sounds, and my word, its such a masterpiece for its time.

225 kilos on the tailgate? That’s it? The split tailgate,not even the solid tailgate, on the Ram 1500 holds just over 900kg!! I see a few of these used for farm trucks, ranch trucks, work trucks in general with bent tailgates. I don’t know how many drums of oil I hauled but in the trucks pre 1990 especially, every one had a damaged tailgate. They were rated for 500 lbs - 800lbs,but the drums often dropped a few inches into the truck. Hence the bent tailgates. Eventually tailgates became very strong on North American full size trucks, including Toyota & Nissan. I like this truck for the same reason I like the Jeep Gladiator. The shape & appearance is very unique. Either one is very expensive though for what you get.

Both these vehicles are very common in the market so reviving the conversation. Recently chose the LR3 over the same year Prado for the actual utility; more space, clearance, the lot. I would even say at 20yo the LR is always in better condition, requiring MUCH more maintenance through the first 150k (compressor, bags, door actuators to name a few, worse if you have a deisel). Whereas the Cruiser has the same amount of mechanical issues after 400k of being heavily beaten. I just dont see any metric where reliability is the main factor in buying a car, especially used. 10yrs ago was a different story, but today you get SO much more from a Disco!
