Vintage Story doesn't need all that much to run, but my desktop has an Intel Core i7-12700K, 32GB of RAM, and an RTX 4060.

As of the end of episode 17 I'm sitting at just shy of 126 hours! One of the most freeing parts about Vintage Story is that you set the pace. I can almost guarantee that using copper tools 25 hours in is fairly common, it's all about where you want to focus to get the most out of the game!

can I ask a question, is there any actual purpose for all this build? is there an actual strong enemy there like the pillager in minecraft? or is it all for aesthetic?

Apart from creating a well-lit walled off space to be safe from drifters, bears, and wolves while inside of, it's pretty well all aesthetic. The defensive stuff i talk about in the videos is mainly lore building, finding reasons why it looks the way it does! Although, if this were a multi-player world with land claiming, the battlements and arrow slits would actually be functional in a PvP setting!

There's the Joy of Sailing mod for now that lets you build a small boat that's faster than the raft, but when 1.20 is released there's going to be longboats with multiple spots to put chests and seating as well as elk mounts!

With the chiseltools mod you can make a decorative chest that will take on the appearance of any chiseled block you click on it with, so technically you can now! :o

Excellent progress on the castle! It's shaping up to be enormous! As for that bear in the sheep pen, there are two remedies you'll need to apply: 1) Replace the natural grass/dirt blocks in there, just in case the bear is spawning in there (small chance, but possible). You can use packed dirt, strewn straw, or any other block that's NOT a natural one (solid stone, sand, gravel, or soil). 2) The lower portion of that area has a wall that's only 3 blocks high. Bears can climb right over that, AND they can use ladders. Raise those walls, lose those ladders, and 100% build a roof! Good luck on your journey south! I WONDER WHERE YOU'LL END UP! ;)

They're all just different voices I can do! The only time I'll modify any of the voices is for adding things like a helmet echo (I did that for a Gaius from FFXIV voice line, can't remember if that was in this video or a later one) but otherwise that's all just me and the mic!

The other block game could be used as a nightmare sequence for your character. As for the bear incident, i believe he's jumping in from the back. There's only a one block gap.

That's just Dave! He's always around, you just can't see him except for during temporal storms or when your temporal stability is low. Currently he's just a feature of the skybox, always off in the horizon. Maybe one day we'll be able to pet him!

I'm incredible excited to see the castle when its done. There's not a ton of content for castle building in this game compared to other block game so this is extremely unique in its own right. Keep up the good work man.

I think the scale and time involved to do it in survival compared to the other block game is what keeps a lot of people from starting a massive build like this! I've got a lot of ideas and I'm also excited to see it all turns out!

Solstin, you’ve got to organise your storage along some kind of principle. Just sort through it all so you have dedicated chests and only have to remember broad strokes of what chest has what kinds of things. It will save so much time for you. Also, your goat pen walls are too short to keep the bears out, so they can spawn outside and climb in.

Haha, I'm slowly working toward some sort of organization system for my storage! I'll state it now so I have something to hold myself to, but by the end of episode 19 I'll get it organized! Also I think I may have accidentally cut the clip of it, but I raised the walls around the goat/sheep pen to 4 blocks tall right after taking care of the bear. I'll be replacing the floor in there with some packed dirt to help stop more bears from deciding to pop in out of the ether!

Can you put up a brick building to keep Drifters from coming out of the rifts? I'm new to watching VY.

The rifts spawn randomly in dark areas and have a pretty wide radius where they can spawn drifters, so the best defense is lighting up areas to stop rifts in the first place! Most of the drifters that have ended up in the house I'm sure have been from rifts nearby outside.
