My stepdad was a pilot so what's funny is when I decided to do this, I basically had access to a walk-in closet full of Ghostbusters uniforms, and got a nice tan one which was closest in color to the original also standard issue combat boots look really good in these outfits already had a pair

This is intended more for cotton like fabrics. You could use the paints on leather to make it look worn, but you wouldn’t want to wash it like this.

A $248 proton pack isn't exactly cheap, imo. Couldn't one be made using a combination of 3D Printing, pvc and other cheap parts from reference pics?

At the time of recording that Spirit Halloween pack was around $60 I believe & of course you could make a DIY pack. Since this video was made several other replica packs at various price points have been released too.

Most of the same tips apply other than the tea staining. You can of course use bleach, but you want to be very careful with that. Be sure to do some tests on scrap fabric first if you use bleach.

I appreciate this, I just got the Life Size Proton Pack by Spirit Halloween, I just need the suit and belt really cause I'm not going for SUPER accurate, just the most accurate and recognizable I need to be for a Halloween party. The PKE Meter and trap is something I gotta wait on cause I've already backed the HasLab Two in the Box set from last year so it's gonna be when they come in I get them. So far the Proton Pack and Two in the Box set are the most expensive parts of the costume and I'm REALLY not willing to go out of my way on the boots to be super accurate for something I might not wear often. Belt, gloves, and maybe a set of goggles is on the table...but the goggles are the most "Maybe" of the things. I am a little dubious about the Ebay patches if only cause while I'd like my name on the patch...it feels weird, but then again they gotta have your name anyway to ship it to you.

I have a jacket that was £500 ( Jacket in profile picture ) It was made using real military braiding and wool , But i'd like all the gold braiding to be a bit darker and look old and worn like Jimi Hendrix's did but i also don't want to ruin the jacket , Any idea what i could do ? :)

For a shirt can't remember what it was for I just remembered the process of making it was my first time ever making a cosplay and it really was not cosplay it was more of a Halloween costume I made it when I was real young I took the white T-shirt better than tea let it get a little bit more of a brownish hue to it make it look like a really old Warren white t-shirt then I took it outside and I scratched it against the concrete and hit it with a hammer a couple of times over a rock to give it some small little pin hole and to tear it a little and add some more depth to it that's about it that's all I can remember

Hey, James. I'm about to buy the upper torso with head and arms version but head circumference will be a factor for my particular display. Did you ever take a measurement yourself on yours? The reason I ask is there's 2 different measurements for the male - 22.5" on one of the product photos but then only 20.7" in the description. I was curious as to which measurement is accurate. lol.

@@cristiancornejo No, certain things need both a little weathering and a little bit dirty looking to actually pass as realistic or authentic to the character. Well his technique looks way better in real life vs. on screen. That's the difference here, stage, film and real life each need things to look a certain way to present best. Also Hollywood costumes look so unrealistic irl vs on film 🎥
@alexar.h.5031
@alexar.h.5031 10 ай бұрын
@@cristiancornejo Unfortunately Hollywood is notorious for not getting costumes right, a believable pirate wouldn't be wearing such clean looking clothing. As aboard ship they'd wipe their hands on their clothes as well as be sweaty, grimey, etc... Because they didn't waste water on laundry. The on screen version of Jack Sparrow is an imitation of what Hollywood thinks a pirate should look like. Anyways my point is weathering and "dirtying" up ANY/ALL characters or garb is period, is accurate and authentic, screw what Hollywood thinks they're idiots who never get anything 100% right. I wish they would make it more realistic though. The Jack Sparrow you prefer is a Glam pirate, a diva not authentic

Fabric needs to be washed first, to get rid of the sizing finish. Tea stain doesn't have a yellowish tint, it's brownish. Lipton tea has more dye in it than all the other brands. I've used a dozen or more bags, with less water. Nice job on the painting and fraying.

I have a question on the link for the boots you left in the description when is says special instructionss what does that mean? @JustSomeNerd

Thanks for watching! On the boots, I think that's just if you need something customized when they make them. I'm not sure what type of special instructions they can actually accommodate. That's a question of ezcosplay.com, not me. Here is an updated link to the WilliamsStudio etsy page. You will need to reach out to them about the current availability of their products. www.etsy.com/shop/WilliamsStudio2?ref=simple-shop-header-name&listing_id=254928322

To weigh down the base you could go buy a 12x12 inch cement stepping stone in the garden dept. of the home improvement store and use that. ....that should be plenty heavy enough and works well....not a bad mannequin for that price.
