I had an AFO on my legs for years. I quit wearing mine in 2013 because it kept putting so much pressure on my foot. I had it adjusted so many times at Shriner's Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky but it didn't work. I have mild and ataxic Cerebral Palsy. The reason why I had to wear them was because I was always standing on the tips of my toes for years. until I had leg surgery.
@@justinjutinstinson172 normally a stroke patient or similar would not get such a device/orthosis. We can often control both the ankle and knee joints with some of our ankle foot bracing solutions which are not as involved, encumbering and would be significantly lighter. It would be rare that we would ever suggest a knee ankle foot orthosis (KAFO) for those with strokes.

Is it possible to make an ankle foot orthosis for CONGENITAL VERTICAL TALUS?

Hi Rainy Day. Yes it is but the specifics of any AFO or similar design would depend on the clinical presentation and related factors. Every patient/client we deal with have varying conditions related to whatever pathology is involved and why we go on a case by case basis.
