What kind of fish? Definitely varies but clean water and a good ratio to start. Plecos and cichlids can get triggered from a cooler water change

Live bearers are definitely one of the easier ones to breed. Just make sure there’s a mix of males and females and soon enough you’ll see the females belly get larger

ive found a piece of cool wood from the forest. the surface gets a bit spongy like cork when i immerse it. should i proceed with boil treatment? or matter of fact should i use it in a tank?
@JKFishKeeping13 күн бұрын
I have one piece I found and it’s also a soft wood. I’d still boil it if you can. It might take forever to sink. You can leave it for awhile in water in case it leeches anything

I love this light with the clips! I can only find a 12 inch long one on amazon and dosnt allow returns and that scares me. Well no free returns anyway. Are yo u using for reef or planted? I am looking for one for a reef frag tanks and cant find anything that dosnt have to high of a mount! My tank is only 12 inches front to back so I need something that wont stick out to far into the tank. This looks perfect with clamps! Where did you buy it from and how do you like it? Seems very inexpensive to me compared to mist on Amazon!

@jr.childers2324 definitely going up helps with space. No issues and it’s been going strong. 20 gallons is the most I’ve had on it though. I liked this each because the long bars don’t show the slots. Believe it’s on sale and I think they had a couple sizes

@ 13:55 mins. "Something you never wanna do is...... you don't know what is in that water." Well, if it is in that water it is also on the fish or does he rinse the fish with alcohol????
@JKFishKeepingАй бұрын
Sometimes yes but it’s always safer not to add the water. High levels of ammonia could be something that is in the water but not with the fish. Any meds as well. Things like bacteria or fungus and parasites could very well be on the fish but adding the water would of course contaminate the tank even more. Just volume maths

How many gallons? To be honest, my tanks over hang my wood slightly. You can definitely pull out the wood an inch on either side, especially if it’s on a bottom or mid row so there support on top of the wood

i feel like a canister filter is hindered when you put nearly solid dividers....

Normally yes you are absolutely correct but for the purpose of this set up, the spray bar as well as the power, creates enough surface agitation in each section and filtration that utilizes a single outlet.

Out of curiosity, how long did it take from when you ordered your fish to when they shipped? I ordered some clown killifish at the end of February and they still haven't shipped. Tried contacting customer service on the website to just get a rough idea on what the hold up might be but crickets. Truly just asking
@JKFishKeeping3 ай бұрын
I remember when I ordered, it stated when the shipping date would be and it was probably like 2-3 weeks out. What it seems like it they post the pictures before they even get the fish in house and they are getting sent from overseas. Their communications are very difficult because before I know they only had like two staff members so that is the downfall. Double check to see if you missed a ship date or something in that realm to give you an idea
