So given the V2 Panigale Clip on Fits on the SFV2 Will the Panigale V4S clip ons fit on the SFV4S? I think I just found the next project for my SFV4S

If you're running a piston with the gas ports with nitrous, do you need additional ring gap due to the ports adding more pressure and I'm assuming heat to the ring?

love what you said about keeping an open mind when building these engines. I am also surprised to not see a windage tray on something that spins so fast but maybe the oil pan has some kind of scraper built in? Or maybe you feel like it doesn't need it. In any event this thing is cool.

I got a maybe retarded question. My current application I have AFR heads max lift on springs is .600 my max lift on cam is .624/.614. How bad is that? And will it make a knocking sound.

Great video guys!!!! My buddy had bought new 1995 Z28 with the 6 speed and Corvette exhaust black on black leather. All the trimmings. That car was fast for its time. The old 285 horse Lt1. I fell in love with that body style. I just didnt like when they went to the composite head lights.

Great video.....I'm only lacking the $1500 ABS ring filer to make that job less MISERABLE than it actually is....We use abrasive sharpening stones to dress our rings after filing them.

How much compression can you do on pump gas?? 91??
@____MC____6 күн бұрын
Dynamic compression is a variable along how efficiently the head dissapates heat. You can run a whole point of compression higher with alumninum heads over iron.

man, i love it... just dropping in my newly built (by me) LM7 into my 01 Suburban today... 330k on the factory motor that had the leaking 706 Castech heads that was drinking 1/2 gallon of coolant per week and a quart of oil every 700 miles over the past few months... the new LM7 is decked .002" and machine honed at standard bore of 3.780" and running the BTR Truck "Torque" cam, new BTR LS7 lifters, c-cliped rockers, pushrods, summit hypereutectic pistons... the crank was polished and balanced along with the pistons and rods down to a 10th of a gram... i cannot wait to see how this new motor runs and performs.... your pushrod length video was super helpful when it came to that step and i will enjoy following this one...

I would say the cam they are going to is too big for an engine that small… BUT, it’s a manual transmission and it’s all preference tbh plus Jacob knows what he’s doing and he will also learn something from it. In my opinion the cam they pulled out was about as large as I would go BUT that’s just my OPINION

Not trying to sound dumb Is this just a racing set up? That Cam & 12:1 seems pretty high for street driving. Im assuming with those specs this is going to be a 7500+ Rpm. Awesome video ! I cant wait for the next part in the series

What percentage of additional fuel did E98 require VS E85?
@SquireSCA7 күн бұрын
So it begs the question, can you safely run it without a tune, without fear of it running too lean or losing power somewhere? These Euro5 motors can be a pain in the dick to get dialed in right, due to such strict emissions requirements...

Nitromethane and MTBE.. ok, now I know why the 1050 Dominator I loaned to a guy came back a useless corroded wreck. I run E85 and E100 that I make from cattails in my carbs and fuel systems without issues for years, the 70 GTO has been on it since 2007. Seeing the difference between the fuel I make, 190proof straight ethanol, and anything mixed with gasoline, it appears that Jeff Smith is right.. additives cause corrosion. So if you're going to run C85, treat it like methanol with after run oil and not letting it sit, even overnight. My 65 GTO has been on E85/E100 since 2018, no issues and I pull the battery in October then put it back in the car in May. Its had Qjets and Holleys I convert, as well as FiTech EFI on its 11.5:1 iron headed 455 that makes around 550hp. Its been my tuning mule that I use to set up carbs for other engines. I like the frost and condensation on the outside of my 6-71 case while running my 505ci Pontiac in my 68 LeMans, that I get from running E85. My friends running pump gas have issues with the blower getting hot while driving, but I don't. As for consistency, the lighter parts of gasoline will evaporate off if you let it sit in a barrel for a while (a few months), it comes out to around E90 when I do that. So I will stick with the $2 pump stuff rather than paying $10 or more for the VP fuel. I ran VP red in the 1990s in one of my cars, never had a problem other than rubber hoses needing replaced every other year, and it ran pretty good. Also, since I can produce ethanol for about 40 cents a gallon, the cost of which is mostly cleaning supplies and yeast/enzymes, I just can't justify $10+ for fuel.
