One hell of a bargain deal on a great iconic bike. Fix it up right and modify it a bit and you’ll never want to get rid of it. Thanks for the video. 👍👍👍👍

That's the way. Leave the car stored for 30 years with the door windows open so the rats can eat the whole interior up including the wiring. I don't know what some people are thinking when they do this.

I just acquired an old ford backhoe I believe it’s a 1940’s-1950’s Ford 800, it started life as a tractor and then ended up being a full time backhoe! It’s amazing how things were done back in the day! And these machines are truly a work horse! For it being gas and not diesel I am truly impressed on how it operates! I will post a video of it soon on my other channel so I can share it with everyone because there seems to be not many on KZfaq and I will share the history of this machine! I own 82 acres of land and I’m so happy I got this for my beginner made farm! 😅cheers!

Just like most people, you are missing the word "ton"! noun 1. NORTH AMERICAN a unit of weight equal to 2,000 pounds avoirdupois (907.19 kg). 2. a unit of gross internal capacity, equal to 100 cubic feet (2.83 cu. m). Please don't use words that you don't know the meaning of!

That thing is so fucking cool now me personally, I would definitely put new tires on it and a new gas tank because it had rust on the inside and I would put a regular size sprocket on the back because I would want to get as much meat as I possibly could out of that thing And even with that it would be too slow for my purposes I have a Honda cub 125 and for my roads I wouldn’t want it to be any slower than that but I could take that one to work but yeah dude that thing is so damn cool man and I’m sure it’s worth the 50 bucks I will also get a new spark plug do a full oil change and I would want to put directionals on it replace the lights if I could with LED and I would definitely wanna clean it up and paint it up. And I would also definitely put a new chain on there.

Just watched this (Feb 2024) and was thinking the same thing when he couldn’t pull the carb apart. Those old engines were built solid, good to see it running. I’ll have to look to see if the tractor ever got put back together.

Those metal filters can be purchased new as your tractor was one of the most common and popular for many, many years. There will never be problems getting parts for your 8 or 9 N.

I found one today, that's what brought me here. Confusing deal, he said it was a 1960, but had a 1965 manual. The engine is off the frame. I'm still thinking about it. I still have my 1969 Honda QA-50 and it still runs.

@@rrrestorations5047 $100, but scored piston and jug. He said it was a 50cc but it looks bigger. I have access to a 100cc Honda chi-clone engine free. I might go tomorrow. I remember the later step thru and trail 90 hi/low trans bikes, I also had an XL350. Torque monster deluxe!

Well I don’t know if anyone has mentioned that it sounds like you might have an exhaust leak you might need a new manifold. Check the exhaust port on #4 cylinder the one where it’s straight up from the muffler this cylinder gets all the heat so sometimes the manifold gasket starts leaking and the manifold gets burned away which is an easy fix but sometimes instead of the manifold burning away the block starts burning away I actually have a tractor that I have to put JB weld on the block and then I put a new gasket on while it is still a little soft and then I put the new manifold on but I have to keep an eye on it because it only lasted for 10 years and I don’t use it that much. Also I wanted to suggest that you check your steering box for oil because that’s another thing that the 8N’s are famous for leaking and the bearings are quite fragile inside there. You should also determine whether you have a thermostat or not if you do it’s inside the top radiator hose I always put a temperature gauge on my 8N’s I put a 1.5 inch brass insert just below the thermostat with a threaded brass threaded fitting soldered in for the temperature gauge and then I mount it where I can see it. I would suggest you use the 160 degree thermostat especially if your using it in summer bush hogging or plowing because the 180 degree burns is to hot in my opinion. Lastly I would encourage you to get the I&T shop manual it’s well worth it! 😀🇨🇦

You probably need a better cleaning product in your ultrasound. The metal should look clean and bright. Maybe contact a clock parts supplier, they have good cleaning solutions for clock parts and should work on that.

I just finished watching the first video, asked about the charging system. 12V or 6V. Pulled this one up and at :52 I got my answer. 12V conversion. I just did that upgrade in my ‘52. Generator went out and battery was way past time to replace. The generator was going to cost $350, new battery in my area, $150. Hard to swallow $500 bill when money is tight. HOWEVER, conversion kit with alternator, wiring, brackets was $141. New 12V battery to fit that tray, $70 at Wally World. $211 for the win, and it fires on less that one full crank. 😁 You should get a fan shroud for her. 👍

Is that already swapped to 12V? I noticed you put a 12V battery in it. No problem for the starter or solenoid, but will burn the coil up. My guess is already swapped. You did say the alternator was missing. 6V system used a generator.

The sprocket looks like one from a honda ct105 (build not too far from this motorcycle) so my guess is:the bike uses some parts of rhe honda ct105 or it itself is the ct105 just has been modified to look like a c50
