This was very informative! I never realized how much goes into choosing a pair of dogs to breed. Do you plan on making a video regarding how you are pairing the parents for your future litters and the possible color outcomes? I would love to see that!

Thank you Shawn! That was amazing training and right timing too. I was about to sit and include schedule for Jasper needs, training, etc to be sure he has everything set-up for success and for me too. Question about bringing him in the bathroom with me. Will he not want to join me every time I get into the bathroom afterwards? Question about playpen and crate: we have a playpen in the “living room” area where it is the center of the house, and a crate in the master bedroom where it is quieter. My plan was to have him in the crate couple times during the day for his alone time because from what you said…”he needs to self-soothe, and not see me or have access to me. In the playpen he will see me if I exercise or do my food preparation. The crate will also be the place I will put him before we have visitors/guests coming to visit. What are your thoughts? I will put on the KZfaq channel on as well. Thank you again for this great information and insights. This channel, your integrity, training methods, and transparency along with your love for your schnauzers (just to name a few) are what made me want a dog from you. I can’t wait to meet you and Jasper real soon. ❤

Thank you Julie! Jasper will likely want to follow you anywhere you allow him to go in your home - including the bathroom! You will be watching him pee and poop and he will likely think it is normal to watch you too LOL!! His playpen will likely become his primary location - as with my dogs they love the playpen and think of it as the place to be. If you are playing with him and keeping an eye on him he may move around your house with you. Until Jasper is a year old that is the best way to approach this - he is in his playpen if you aren't able to have him with you. After a year you may allow him more freedom. Yes, you may use the crate as you need to - I prefer to have mine in my playpen and I don't typically crate my dogs outside the playpen. You may put the crate or airline carrier on your bed the first few nights when he comes to your home so he understands this is sleep time and were we sleep. He will likely sleep through the night next to you with no issues when he arrives at your home! (for those of you who don't know this who are reading this comment, Jasper is enrolled in our full puppy prep school so he is old enough to sleep through the night.) I love your comments Julie! I LOVE Schnoodles too and Embark DNA has revealed that some of my puppies that have come from parents that are Mini Schnauzers are Schnoodles! Thus this is a Schnauzer and Schnoodle love fest here on this channel 😍❤️

Very cool! Im curious about ginger tee time’s litter, please let me know if im following correctly. Ginger tee time is a red and white parti, then the dad is teddy which is a black and silver phantom. Around 13:19 you said teddy’s puppies can’t be a parti color based on his genetics. What does this mean in terms of potential colors for the litter, will ginger tee time’s puppies not be red and white parti due to this? Just curious, its cool how embark can let u know all this!

Hello! Ginger is a Red Parti. I bred Ginger to BOTH Maui (who can have red parti colored puppies) and Teddy (who can't have any parti colored puppies). If Ginger has any recessive red PARTI colored puppies they are from Maui. If she has any dark colored puppies they are from Teddy. Hope that clarifies?

I have had 3 mini and I never knew they come in colors other than Black, White, Salt & Pepper, Black & Silver. My 3 were all black and 2 salt / pepper. Great little dogs and very smart. I promised myself oneday I will obtain another mini. Right now I have 3 Malshi's

You are absolutely correct. Purebred schnauzers only come in black or silver (grey). Any other colours are from a designer mix.

I purchased the six panel Iris pen but find the side panels are unstable in the rectangular configuration. Is there a solution to this or will I need to only use four of the panels for safety and stability??

Check out this video where I explain what I've done: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/itF1qq-GuLrYoJs.html - you can also use a crate (I use the plastic zip pull ties to attach the crate to the pen - do you see what I mean in the video?) and you can also use a wall or table to help stabilize the pen. In some of my recent videos showing two smaller pens (where Huckleberry and her puppies are now) you will see how I am using a wall to create the stabilization and a chair ... I will make a point to speak to this in one of my upcoming videos also. Thank you for enjoying my videos!

my pup is having her first season. I am so not prepared 😵💫 we just noticed it when she had blood stains on her diaper when we took her to the mall yesterday. im planning to have her spayed once i've saved the money.

Yes, having her spayed is a good choice after her first heat cycle. You may want to check with your local ASPCA as they often have the ability to do a spay at a significant reduced rate from a vet's office if that is of interest to you.

Not sure I understand your question - perhaps you are asking: IF you've had a dog with parvo who was on your carpet what do you do with the carpet after the dog was on it? If that is the question, wrap up the carpet and store it for 3 - 5 years before using it again or if it is wall to wall carpet, any dog that comes into the space where the carpet is would need to have finished the DHPP round of shots before coming in contact with that space. Any dogs that haven't finished their DHPP round of shots would need Monoclonal antibodies from a vet prior .... please understand I am giving you my best understanding of what I think you are asking me and you would be wise to discus this with your vet before bringing any dog into your home after a parvo case.

Shawn, First of all, We love your stew, boiled hamb, sweet potptoes etc, I mean we love to eat it as well! My puppies are 6 1/2 weeks old, will get first shot at 8 weeks, I am torn some say 6 weeks some say 8 weeks. They have not be outside at all, We live in Texas, I have purchased all your goodies but afraid to take them out when thay only have had 1 shot in the near future, so how do I socialize them? I heard they can get parvo really easily until all the core vaccines are given, We are in our 70's.
