Hi Maddy! Love the thrift finds, they're noice, different, unique 😅 As a kiwi, I love Kath and Kim. I feel like the patchwork dress could look cute with a collar, maybe a 70s pointed collar?

The pink jacket is a ‘shell suit’ - that’s what we called them in the UK in the 80s and 90s anyway.😂

Maddie, fabulous finds. The pink jacket is parachute material. The white highlight sewing threads reminds me of Levi's from the late 80s, early 90s, along with your red pants. I love the Houndstooth pants and the patchwork jean dress. I also love the round neckline on the dress it suits you. The Zara vest, the crochet top and the sage green skirt are cute, too.
@TheEssentialsClub5 күн бұрын
ooo yes that makes sense that it's parachute material!! obsessed with the vibe of those jackets :) Truly scored such a fun collection of unique pieces. Cannot wait to style them across all the seasons of life!

How do i add sleeves in last top?
@Finny_finn_finn13 күн бұрын
Couple of questions...are you learning to sew as you go? You're doing alright but a couple quick and easy techniques can really improve your final product. 1. Learning to align your print on your fabric to your pattern for mirror images. 2. Learning how to hide your seams...like in your sleeves so you don't have exposed seams that fray. 3. Learning how to measure your own body and making simple bodice patterns based off those numbers...that way you don't use t-shirts or cut fabric off of sleeves to create your desired look. I love this dress...it's a bit short...wear shorts on a windy day

Is there a way to make this without cutting the fabric on the bias? I dont mind using a zipper if needed.
@colehauser829516 күн бұрын
could you add length to this? would the shape get weird with the center and back seams?
@whatnow836218 күн бұрын
I wouldn’t attach the sleeve like that. It’s much easier to attach the sleeve flat and the close the side seam and the arm seam all in one go.
@Soffffie18 күн бұрын
I had the same thought when watching it. It’s also a cleaner finish when sewing the sleeve flat +the side seams in one go.

I've personally preferred this method shown recently (and find it easy for beginners to be able to adjust if need be too) but maybe I need to try the suggested way again as it's been a few years :) I love that with self drafting it's easy to change anything at each step to better suit our preferences! So you could definitely switch to your method instead for this part.

For begginers at the second top: when u sew the elastic tunnels, sew BOTH first, then put the elastic in. Sewin one with the another already gathered can be tricky, since it feels like youre sewing a circle

Hey Lovely so sorry for the late response to your video but I really love your green pants just wondering if they were one of your fabulous creations or a thrift shop piece? Love your videos btw you always make it super clear and easy to understand how to explain things especially to a person like myself who is very new to sewing. Thanks so much in advance if you do get a chance to respond. xo
