Watch along as I bring to life a combo piece I've been dreaming of for a while now - a simple dress and matching feature jumper which can easily be styled together or separately.
Plenty of learnings I share along the way, plus tips and steps for you to follow along in case you want to recreate something similar :)

Suggested Fabric Amount Required (Jumper & Dress midi length):
Size Extra Small = 2m
Size Small = 2.25m
Size Medium = 2.5m
Size Large = 2.75m
Size Extra Large = 3m
(add or take 0.25 metres for anything larger or smaller than these sizes)

I have AWFUL insomnia and have spent many years staying up all night multiple nights a week. Your videos literally put me to sleep (in good way!!) Beautiful dress! It would be easier if it was sewn with an overlock, since it is an elastic fabric. But you managed to do it super well with the sewing machine!

Agreed! One day I’ll get my overlocker serviced and working again haha. Would help so much. But also nice to know I can achieve what I have in mind on a regular machine ☺️☺️

Thaaanks!! If you have access to a machine I’d recommend just getting used to sewing straight lines and basic hems etc. Potentially make a tote bag or something similar to start. Then you can jump into garments like elastic waist pants and simple crop tops (I’ve got tutorials for both). By then you should feel a bit more confident to start exploring projects that challenge you a little more ☺️

Love and was just wondering how to do anything other than a turtleneck neckline on a stretch and this was perfectly timed! FYI I found out those middle darts are called fisheye darts!

If I wasn’t to include a turtle neck, I would probably just finish it similar to the sleeves by adding the bias binding to the raw edge of the neckline then tucking it away ☺️☺️ Oooo Good to know! Thanks for sharing ☺️☺️

I’ve had people comment that they haven’t seen it done this way and have also watched other people cut/sew it differently. Maybe it’s fine and I just got insecure for no reason hahah
