The wire connection in the left of the carb?? Where did you wire that too and with what kind of wire
@rwallaceiv

@@christianh7655 I believe it originally went to the fuel cut off solenoid that stuck out the left side of oem carb. Which is a 12v key powered wire. . Is that what your talking about?

Thanks for your videos. My Terrapro (with mower) would not start after using it several days last week. I opened the air filter hatch and found a nest made of insulation and an ossified corpse. I cleaned the hatch, washed the air filter and up it started. I had never gone near the air filter before. Thanks again.

I just did the Chinese carb swap yesterday morning and found that the o-ring from the original choke has to be removed for the factory choke needle to fit. We'll see if I make a mess of the garage floor after I finish replacing the brushes in the starter and fire up again.

I love those old Subarus, would love to have one. Had a 78' Brat in the 90s that I bought for $300- I think it only needed a new battery. At that time, people mostly thought they were oddball vehicles and there wasn't much demand for strange looking 20 year old half car-half trucks. My Uncle and Aunt bought a new Subaru 4x4 wagon in 1979. They live on a hill w a dirt road that gets a lot of snow in the winter. That thing would usually come up the hill whether it was plowed or not. The one time it didn't was when a heavy snow fell and the car pushed along until so much snow had packed under the front axle that the front wheels were lifted off the ground. Completely stock, except for its snow tires.

If you take the small clear dust cover off the cap on top of the distributor. Its a fine tuning knob for timing. No need to loosen bolt and rotate distributor.

@@rwallaceiv well you might be right! I have a california spec 77 20R it does not have points. Its electronic ignition. But it has the knob. When i set timing like your video I can fine tune it by rotating the knob. But maybe Im messing something else up :)

Ray will You be so kind to do me a favor please? This video got me to thinking 🤔. I have a 2009 Honda 420cc Rancher I bought brand new for deer hunting purposes only. It has probably less than 150 miles on it and probably 90 hours on it 😂. It’s sit idling more than its been rode actually. I’ve changed the Oil in it once or twice & All of them hours was mostly taking corn 🌽 to the deer stand and hauling deer out short distances to the truck and trailer. I have used It to seed a 1/4 acre food plot on an old hunting lease I no longer have. But thats about the extent of this machines life so far. 2009 and still like brand new & the nobby tires still look new 😂. YEAH I KNOW SOUNDS LIKE WASTED MONEY 💰don’t it ? But I special ordered it from Honda and paid $7500 for it brand new. I ordered it in the camouflaged plastic body from the factory. It has sit on a Pull along trailer most of its life covered up with tarps until hunting season. Or I have played in the snow on it once or twice. I’m retired now & seriously thinking it’s time to start using it for trail riding occasionally to keep the fluids flowing in it & everything working properly. It’s electric ⚡️ start and no way to pull start it if I got somewhere and my battery 🔋 died on me. So Ray My question to U is, and possibly if you can be so kind & do me a very simple favor.... Look with the company that you ordered that pull Start kit from and see if they offer the Pull starter housing Kit for A 2009 Honda 420 Rancher 4x4 with power steering and electric shift. ? Let me know if they do or not and the name of website to find it at. I’m probably, well not probably, I am old enough to be your grandfather. And like I said I’ve let that Four Wheeler Sit more than it’s ever gotten used. It’s already 14 years old and has probably has less than 150 miles on it. It’s electric shift but if the battery goes dead I can use the tool that came in the tool bag to manually shift it into first gear to limp it to safety. So it would be nice to have a pull start on it in case of emergency if electronic problems was to happen or if my battery went down in the woods. If that is even a option at all on that model and engine ???? Idk 🤷🏻‍♂️
