Spends shit loads on car, fit out, diesel, solar panels, two fridge and freezer, inverters and then says “I want to go lithium because 120AH battery is small but budget permitting…” you are edging and just need to hit the vinegar strokes to finish the job. Dont do 90% measures.

Did you leave exposed metal for the antenna to ground to?
@JRCadventuresАй бұрын
Hey - the antenna connects directly to the Uniden box so no need for it to earth on the bar.
@ravenrisingАй бұрын
@JRCadventures are you sure about that? You possibly just cut your TX/RX ability by 3/4 of the distance and create a ton of static. I'm not trying to be rude, just concerned, and want you to have the best experience.

@JRCadventures no worries. Keep us posted. Ground Plane is the key thing that I was thinking about. And those have to be a conductive surface. Google Radio Antenna Ground Plane for additional information. Again, I just wanted you to have the best experience.

Glad to see you used an original windscreen frame. Only one fiberglass shop in Australia got them right, a bloke in Noosa and he died years ago. I had a windscreen business for 25 years and would walk away from fiberglass 75 series windscreen panels. My 75 came off a property in central Queensland, destined for the tip. Cost me $500 and I have spent about $20k getting it going and keeping it on the road. Looks 100 times rougher than yours, but at 31 years old and 600,000ks and still going strong.
