They should've put the regular pokemon on cartoon newtowkr and pokemonspe on toonami or adult swim. Simple solution to the mature content in the series which is mild at best. But nooo we don't even get that much

I thought you were gonna say that Platinum became a main character in the anime.

While all the other arcs are amazing, this one has some moments that are extremely good such as everyone fighting using legendaries, everyone sending their Pokémon out to help, and the cool connections between gameplay and story such as the trading or Kurt's PokéBalls. The character dynamics are at their best here as well since you get to see not only both sets of protags interact, but also gym leaders and elite four members. There's even a cute little tease between Janine and Falkner, likely a reference to the fact that you can see them going on a date at the department store every week on the same day. (Heck, the manga even manages to pair up Bill and Daisy fairly well.) I just wish that they actually did stuff with Red and Yellow since that plotpoint and everything else is practically dropped after this arc. (The FireRed/LeafGreen, HeartGold/SoulSilver, and Emerald arcs give us a bit more interactions between protags, but not much and then Diamond/Pearl is basically a reboot.)

Great job once again! Dang, this video was almost 2 hours long already. Can't imagine how much longer the Ruby and Sapphire arc will be in comparison. This Gen 2 arc was really neat way to culminate the story up until that point and connecting all the dex holders at this time together. While i know people really like Silver for his backstory with the Masked Man (and some other stuff that will be revealed in future arcs), and Crystal was an interesting trainer to follow as well, I feel like Gold really does shine both in this arc and later on in HGSS. It's true that he can be a pretty selfish individual and often only helps if he gets some kind of benefit in return, but he never does anything out of malicious intent like the Masked Man. Even in his more selfish moments, Gold wouldn't leave people behind once he has what he wants. He genuinely is a great person, which makes the fact that people pass him over for important tasks pretty sad. I know this is explored a bit more in HGSS, but we do still see that in this arc as well. He wants others to see that is capable of pulling off incredible feats, and that he can be trusted with important missions, which is why he seeks validation from people like Professor Oak. So it is really nice to see Gold's simultaneous selfish and selfless tendencies contrast with the Masked Man at the end of this arc. He would do whatever he can to protect his friends and partners. Also, out of all the villains in Pokemon Special up until now (and future arcs, let's be honest), the Masked Man is probably the most reprehensible and evil in this series, even though his motivation for all of his actions ended up being the most simple. He manipulated the people around him, closed himself off from his genuine friends, kidnapped children and put them under his tutelage in a twisted version of a family, abused many people and Pokemon that he "cared" for, forced innocent Pokemon into committing acts that are against their nature, and put two regions under a great panic in his attempt to control time. And for what? Two Pokemon??? Just because he felt sad that he lost his Lapras' parents??? Instead of just raising the Lapras himself and helping it move on from its pain as well??? Did he really think he would be absolved of his actions just because he'd be able to have power over time??? My goodness, he really did delude himself into doing such horrific things just to get rid of his grief and his guilt, instead of listening to his friends who were worried for him and did whatever they could to alleviate his cold heart. Honestly, he really does deserve his fate of being lost to time..... ....is what I would say....but I'm going to save that for later.... >:c

The GSC chapter is the highest the Pokémon series has ever risen in terms of storytelling. There’s almost no true filler, every event had value in the end, whether it was practical like the Mount Silver hot spring water, or thematical like the song Boy and His Lapras. The fact that all the characters established in the previous chapters also contributed really made it feel like the culmination of a grand adventure. And at the heart of it all was Gold, my favorite character in the franchise. In spite of his many flaws, he rose to the occasion, proving to the world that even reckless, hot headed goofballs like him can be a true hero!

Gold The Hatcher/Breeder Anti-Hero. He's a bit temperamental, tends to do things for fun, and usually causes trouble (intentionally or otherwise) wherever he goes; but is a nice guy way, way underneath. That's what makes his character so fun for me this moment The final battle of the GSC arc also counts. Gold flies into the time stream riding on Raikou to stop Pryce. Then he tells Silver and Crystal to go back without him and he dives down towards the spot where Pryce is. Pryce asks how anyone could comprehend the pain he did when he held La Glace's egg in his hands after La Pris and La Prus died. Gold says he can, because he's the hatcher, then proceeds to unleash SUPER RISING THUNDER! (an attack powered by the moves of everyone else's Pokémon and channeled into his billiard cue like a lightning rod) and destroys the GS Ball that Celebi is stuck in. Note that he did this with a Pichu that's barely been born. That kid is BADASS.

The Hoenn Duo is pretty much 100% Canon. Because even the games have Shipping moments. Ruby Sapphire was the first games when GF decided on the excellent idea to use the counterpart plaayer character as the rival. Throughout the story (Ill consider Brendan/Sapphire as the player) . Mom immediately says there's a girl your age and forces you to meet her . Berch (May's Dad in this version) absolutely wants you to meet his daughter. . Berch even later asks you about how she's doing cause he thought you guys were together. . May comes to congratulate you on your league victory inspite of not being the Champion herself. Thats only unique to Hoenn. . As for ORAS, the entire Delta episode is a big-ass Date.
