So I am supposed to sit here as awareness after I proved I can get back in time. Great thanks. Real spiritual. You can percieve everything eternally too. Why are you ass rapping the Christian babies if you are so aware? I am not here again? The spiritual path is when you tell everyone the limits of the human consciousness and it is less than Jesus's. If you can see the future your death and resurrection you can get back chose to allow it to happen or not. How are not freeing the people from their oppressors instead of being aware that you don't care? You said that the limits of the human consciousness are less than Buddha who let them poison him with foreknowledge. Do you not know who I am.

I don’t get that if we are the awareness watching things unfold, the awareness that cannot be touched…then doesn’t that imply that we are separate from what’s happening? So what is it when you talk of not being separate? Not being separate from what? From everything, right? From the movie on the screen that we’re watching and aware of?

I've watched a few videos lately by Izzy Cloke and Tony Parsons. They say any effort to reach a state is a waste of time. That for them there was always a contraction of energy in the body they identified with and then one day this contraction collapsed, and they saw that no one or nothing exists it's all just apparently happening as an illusion\dream. Everything and nothing simoltaniusly, but the fact that any practice or trick for this to happen is just another aspect of the ego identifying as a seeker, but it ultimately leads to nowhere, it either happens or doesn't happen?
@KK-sg5gl26 күн бұрын
I want to see what happens to them and their mental state when something terrible happens to them. Like having their partner commit infidelity and leaving them, or being the victim of a violent crime, or having to witness a loved one be the victim of such an act. They never address these extreme situations.
@JonnyChaos26 күн бұрын
@@KK-sg5gl I think Tony Parsons is in his 70s so assume he's probably been through a lot. My questions really just aimed at the content creator to be honest. Thanks for your input.

My husband and I were annoyed with each other yesterday but fortunately the rain stopped so I was able to go for a walk. It was humid and warm, and the air was heavy with the scent of flowering shrubs. I watched a long worm pulling itself across the damp path, and I felt light as a feather observing it all...the worm, myself, and human folly in general. All is well today, just as it was yesterday. Cheers, everyone! 🙋♀️ 🌱 🌞 ☮️
@KK-sg5gl26 күн бұрын
What if when you saw the worm it was trying to cross a hot concrete path and struggling/suffering? Wouldn’t that experience have been different for you? You saw a tranquil part of nature. But you could have seen an ugly part of it, perhaps even far worse than your annoyance with your husband. Would you still have felt a oneness while witnessing suffering?
@TerriblePerfection26 күн бұрын
@@KK-sg5gl I think so. One of our cats is dying from a tumor and it hasn't changed anything. I take her for palliative shots every few weeks and just enjoy her while she's here. I also watched both of my parents die and felt grateful to be there. Everything living is also dying, no?

Spiritual awakening and trauma healing are, in my very personal experience, two sides of the same coin and both involve clarifying the mind - finding and rejecting the falsehoods. I have been in trauma therapy using the IFS modality for many years and a central component of it is to establish your awareness in Self (capital S). I have also established a deep meditation practice that involves attending a local meditation temple. The meditation practice helps the IFS work and the IFS work helps the meditation practice.

Yep as has been my experience and what I’ve observed meeting countless others. Suffering shouldn’t be removed. It’s to be felt, experienced and allowed to be there to flow through because we’re human, and the human experience is not to be denigrated while exalting spiritual status. So clear to see where the spiritual bypassing is in this space.

In the end we agree, I guess. We seem to have 60.000 thoughts per day, roughly one every second. Over 95% of those are not functional, negative and repetitive (aka ego). We are addicted to thinking and we are completely unaware of our addiction. We regard it as normal. How often do you count your thoughts? I know the person is an illusion and therefore powerless. Consciousness, however, is neither. If there has been a spiritual breakthrough (the essential shift from identifying with the person to realizing you are consciousness, simply because consciousness is all there is) the number of thoughts will drop dramatically because the ego is fading away or gone. If there has been no change in the number of thoughts you apparently are still identifying with ego. You can tell yourself you will simply ignore those thoughts but the fact that they appeared indicates that ego is still active (you are still dreaming, believing you and the world are real.). A mind empty of thoughts is NOT a result of violence but of understanding. An example: suppose you could dream a dream again with one difference only: this time you KNOW you are dreaming although you don't know what will happen or how the dream will end. Let's make it a nightmare. Won't the number of thoughts decrease dramatically the second time, simply because you have left the personal perspective (required for fear and suffering)?

If I understand you correctly, Sunya, your teaching became real for me one day when I was peacefully walking, thinking what a perfectly beautiful day it was. It suddenly struck me that thinking it's beautiful is also a judgment, it just happens to be a positive one. That felt like a revelation, because I merely had a different kind of thought, but it was still just a thought, and really had no bearing on me, what I was doing, or anything else. I notice that a lot now. Even in the complete absence of conflict or suffering, etc., the mind continues to measure, assess, etc., which makes me smile or even laugh outright for some reason. Love to you all! 🌻

to elaborate i think it’s fundamentally important to comprehend the mechanisms by which we take action in this world, a lot of our actions are at first manifestations on the level of thought, these forms carry energy, we call this energy emotion, this emotion conditions and animated us accordingly that is only if we are not aware of awareness within ourselves. therefore nothing has to be done but the remembrance of awareness or spirit whatever yu wanna call it, the objective perception. it is by no means bad to try and fix behavioural patterns, it’s great to have the discernibility to know when yur acting out of a sleeping state out of ego unconsciousness. like sunya said tho the process by which to stop those behaviours isn’t by endless psychoanalysis as that ends in rapt but rather it’s done by remembering the true essence, as that allows for space between/around thoughts. once the space is there we have created freedom of action. which as far as i could tell is what your question was regarding. i hope this helps much love

You can’t allow things to happen ! Things happen anyway. Whether we want it or not ! We can just observe our resistance to things happening. Even say “ allow things to happen” is an effort ! Observing all what happens in the vastness of the awareness, without effort and if there is effort , then observing the effort, without any kind of expectations…and if there are expectations, observing the expectations, just enjoying the show…

This seems like a good example of why Suzanne Segal might've allowed for someone to influence the structure and "accessibility" of her book? I only bring it up because it seems more than a good handful of people are turned off by what seems like unnecessary personal accounts. Not sure. But I learned about her because of a Quora post of yours on DPDR, thanks for that!
