The wind direction in this scene always bothered me. You can't have flags going of in all directions. Pick one. Flags also usually don't look that cool, except at strong winds. Otherwise, it is very impressive
I would watch this man playing Salah Al Dein every day for a 1 hour Episode for 20 years No problem

We hold Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as an example and role model to how we live life. Salahuddin indeed followed the example Prophet Muhammad ﷺ of when those whom drove the Prophet out of Makkah, harmed and killed his family and loved ones - they were all granted forgiveness and protection in Makkah under his rule. The face of Arabia changed with the poor, destitute, orphans and women getting support and financial assistance. Before this the pagans sold their own mothers in the marketplace, women were given the right to live and not be buried alive, women were allowed inheritance and right to vote, education and divorce. This is why Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was chosen by Western historians and scholars (in Michael Hart’s book) as the first and most influential man in history.

Important detail to remember that this Movie was written and directed by Chritians, and most of the crusades(Unholy) wars were provoked or initiated by (Militant Christians).

Nothing to him because he's a man who thinks with sense and also everything because he leads many senseless men. So not about the city at all but all about what it represents and the power that grants him by taking it.

Two great, responsible and honorable men knowing their duties and responsibilities, it's hard to find it these days. It doesn't matter if you are a Christian or Muslim, both of them deserve our respect.

This is one of the most chilling scenes in my memory. The army is so human, so messy, so believable. They're not marching in "exact" columns and rows as seen in the newer movies. It is so powerful.

Note that at 1:28, after he says 'my master is here', it cuts back to Balian and you can just see the cross appear behind him, but not in the previous shot (1:25) of Balian. Great writing.

Ran away like a pussy at Montgisard though, only one tenth of his army survived meeting a Christian army that Saladin’s vastly outnumbered. Not as great as a lot of people seem to believe.

Ridley Scott's screen plays run fast and loose with the real history. According to the movie Saladin was magnanimous in victory over the Siege of Jerusalem. Actor, Ghassan Massoud, gave a brilliant performance of a charismatic "Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub". But the history is some what different. According to a Wikipedia Historian, Jerusalem capitulated to his forces on Friday, 2 October 1187, after a siege. When the siege had started, Saladin was unwilling to promise terms of quarter to the Frankish inhabitants of Jerusalem. Balian of Ibelin threatened to kill every Muslim hostage, estimated at 5,000, and to destroy Islam's holy shrines of the Dome of the Rock and the al-Aqsa Mosque if such quarter were not provided. Saladin consulted his council and the terms were accepted. The agreement was read out through the streets of Jerusalem so that everyone might within forty days provide for himself and pay to Saladin the agreed tribute for his freedom. An unusually low ransom was to be paid for each Frank in the city, whether man, woman, or child, but Saladin, against the wishes of his treasurers, allowed many families who could not afford the ransom to leave. Heraclius of Jerusalem organized and contributed to a collection that paid the ransoms for about 18,000 of the poorer citizens, leaving another 15,000 to be enslaved. Saladin's brother al-Adil "asked Saladin for a thousand of them for his own use and then released them on the spot." Most of the foot soldiers were sold into slavery. Upon the capture of Jerusalem, Saladin summoned the Jews and permitted them to resettle in the city. In particular, the residents of Ascalon, a large Jewish settlement, responded to his request.
