When I was Young People's Band Leader at Manchester Citadel/Sale this was one of our favourites. It was by Adam Hall of South Shields so me being 50% Sand Dancer it was a cert that we would play it!

I often play the recording by the Maidenhead quartet who sing the same recording as you have presented. Loved both. Very typical Norman Bearcroft style. There must be someone who could follow this up with another set of songs, it gets people singing!

I was taught this song 30years ago in my 5th class in st.Johns primary school in Lagos, Nigeria. I was cooking on the 12th December 2023 and the Holyspirit laid this song in my heart and i still remembered the lyrics. i started to sing it and realised indeed that there are so many things to be grateful for that we sometimes take for granted and don't say thank you. As i am typing this I am already teaching my daughter this song. Its a very lovely song. God bless the singer, the writer, and the person that posted it here.

@@ericbicknell7231 It's the chorus of song 476 in the songbook. (Songs of salvation are sounding). For meeting leaders who want to include this song and have no pianist, there is nothing in any online resource to help them. Most other tunes in the Army songbook have a youtube clip or some other congregational 'accompaniment', but not this one.

@@lizzie3094 It's on a recording called "It's New" from the ISB. They recorded some of the tunes that were new in the 1987 Song Book. This was one of them. I believe it's 2 verses with chorus. And you should be able to get it at regalzonophone.com

@@ericbicknell7231 Thank you. I found it - but I can't see a feature to save it for inclusion in a power point presentation, which is what meeting leaders use when there's no pianist. Thanks for your input though.

@@lizzie3094 You would have to be able to save it from your browser, if it allows it. Many browsers don't support that. The only option besides downloading is to hook your computer into your Corps sound system, and have the page up and ready with the tune on pause until you need it.

Hello, I am a Salvationist from Texas. I have really getting into the Music scene of the salvation army, especially the Marches that have include lyrics. Where do you find the Lyrics for these pieces? Is it just random searching or is there a book or just knowledge you’ve gathered from living? I have been looking for lyrics to specific marches because I hear and play them so much but do not know the meaning and I want to share the words with my bandmates as what they play is more than joyful noise, it’s a statement they’re proclaiming.

Generally, I get a lot of vocal references from the scores of the Marches. I've been working with SA Music for over 40 years, and have gained a lot of knowledge about some of these things. But in general, the score notes are the best resource to find what you're looking for. If you need help finding something, your Divisional Music Director should be able to help, if not, I am on Facebook, and you can send me a message there.

Jesse McLaughlin and Lydia Cope, two wonderful salvationist soldiers, now in glory, who served God in the soon to close (sadly) Saltcoats Corps of the Salvation Army. This was your hymn, I can hear you ‘shout with all your might ‘ now that you are there. Because of you both , I continue to climb those golden stairs. Thank you for posting this, it warmed my heart and flooded my mind with beautiful memories.
