Hi Robin, I just got it but despite reading the manual, the light mode is a bit confusing to me. What's the difference between Light mode Individual and Auto? While experimenting a bit the settings seems to change a bit randomly here, I had it on auto and when I went back to the widget it suddenly was on Trial.

Thank you for this. The pads that came with my Chinese carbon wheels are horrible. My pads might as well be made of cardboard right now.

When installing the first bearing, do you need to put the axle through it? Or can you just press it in with a bearing press without the axle ? Thanks for your help

Hi, thanks for the review. My garmin RTL-515 has given up the ghost. I always had it connected with my bluetooth earpods for alerts. Does the magene have this feature? Its a deal breaker if it doesn't.

How do you create a custom plan with polarized phases? It seems that you can only add polarized phases (base/build/...) to your calendar, or am I wrong? Great video btw :)

Thanks Robin. I stop cycling in september outdoor in the UK. Hate wet weather cycling. I found this stuff great in the dry. I used White lighting clear ride before this which was far worse. It lasted about 80 km. Had to redo after every ride. This does last much longer as well. White lighting purple for the winter time is great stuff!

From brand new, how often or after how many miles/ kms would you likely be servicing Giant hydraulic brakes? I have Tektro HD-R280 brakes on my bike. Are they "Conduct" type brakes that everyone says suck in the comments here?

Your DT Swiss wheels would have been faster in 99% of situations with their significant aero advantage over the prime wheels. It would trump the weight every time

Great review and comparison. I decided on the Jawbreaker myself. One feature I think you failed to mention about the Jawbreakers is the removeable lense. I bought the Prizm Road and picked up a low light lense and they're very easy to switch in and out. My favorite part about these glasses! Cheers!

Hey Robin, Is the magene mount working well with the Garmin Radar?
@RobinHughesTriathlon

They don't work together, although they will fit each other they are 1/4 turn rotated from each other. So if you used them interchangeably the light would be sticking out to one side on the other brands mount

Ciao sono Andrea da Milano. Ottimo video ben spiegato e molto utile.

I know this is very late but I completely recommend the ASICS gel nimbus 25 or the new balance 1080 v13 bc they are both super protective and have high stack heights and have enough energy return to not tire you out (the NB 1080v13 is bouncier than the ASICS gel nimbus 25 but they’re both still not considered the bounciest shoes)

@RobinHughesTriathlon
@RobinHughesTriathlon Жыл бұрын
You'll need to look at the packet and see how many G of fructose per G of product you have. From there you can put in the correct amount

I love the 1 and hate the 2. I'm way slower in the v2 at the same heart rate. While it was really easy to lock into that fast forefootstrike pace in the v1, the 2 is a shoe that almost wants to make you heel strike. Nike did this on purpose so that all the heelstrikers out there could wear an alphafly shoe as well and they could sell more. It came at the cost of performance however. There'd be nothing wrong with the 2 if it were an additional version. It is however a replacement - and that is a mistake.

One thing that changed my waxing (for the better) Is one of those "plug in thermostats" (£15 on amazon) Basically it controls any plug in device via temperature which it reads from a probe. So I can just throw the chain on top of the wax, set the maximum temperature and turn it on, no need to "pot watch" just come back in an hour or so and the wax and chain will be at temperature, swish until I see no bubbles, let it cool, swish again and remove. Note: I also use a countdown timer switch that I set for 2 hours, so if forget or whatever it will just switch itself off.

Got a question. I am about to try Squirt on my new chain. What do i do though when i decide to switch back to oul lube? Do i just degrease my chain, cassette, crankset? I asked someone and he said boil the chain, which i find ridiculous.
@RobinHughesTriathlon
@RobinHughesTriathlon Жыл бұрын
pouring boiling water over the chain will remove squirt. Going back to oil, you can pretty much just go back without doing anything. it's more the oil to squirt that's important

I have 3 pairs of them. Since Oakley discontinued making them, unless it’s a custom, it’s a nice deal if you can even find them. They don’t fog up at all using them during training sessions. I do most of my training outdoors. It’s the pair to use when it’s hot and humid and it’s always humid down here in Hawaii.

I’ve just started track running and sometimes get stomach cramps. What should I eat before track and how long should I leave it? Same for swimming actually!
@RobinHughesTriathlon
@RobinHughesTriathlon Жыл бұрын
I find it's best to finish eating a minimum of an hour before training. If the intensity is higher then aim for an hour and a half. Try eating something fairly light or a smaller portion. You're going to want to get some slow release carbs in before the session like pasta, oats/porridge, eggs or a bagel/toast. Worse case a gel and a banana should do the trick
