Thanks for the vid mate. Helped me at least get some braking power back on the rear. What a f’n hassle… I’d gladly pay someone to do this.

conduct user here, searching for how to bleed. glad that i ran into this vid just hope my front brake works well again(almost killed me)
@kmhk59762 жыл бұрын
@@kelvs45 It is better than normal brakes. but if you can afford full system hydrualic disk brake, I recommend buying it. maintaining conduct is tough. Im not gonna buy conduct system bike again. +sry i don't know what caliper is mounted on my bike. Shimano type system maybe?

Thanks! What is the goal of this video? What is bleeding? In my case the lever goes all the way to the handle bar when I break

ah crap, looks like i had no idea what i got myself into... thanks man! 😅

Yeah it's a bit of a nightmare. If you can afford it I'd just stick some 105/ultegra parts on instead

From brand new, how often or after how many miles/ kms would you likely be servicing Giant hydraulic brakes? I have Tektro HD-R280 brakes on my bike. Are they "Conduct" type brakes that everyone says suck in the comments here?

Hi, Very good video. Would you know if I can replace my Shimano 105 shifters with new ones on this same bike without bleeding the brakes?
@RobinHughesTriathlon2 жыл бұрын
as in swap the 105 mechanical shifter for hydraulic? You would need to bleed the new brake yes as well as get new hose to connect them up. Shimano bleeding is extremely easy though

I'd like to see how well the chainsaw on the workbench helps bleed these brakes. Honestly, what a contraption...

how do you adjust the brake cable to adjust the reach?
@georgemcnaughton8238 Жыл бұрын
Thats the fun part, you don't! You can pull the hood back and screw the screw on the top to bring it in but i find it lowers braking power.

i got rid of my contend sl1 disc just because of the conduct system. i couldn't bleed the brakes reliably and neither could the LBS (3 different ones). Just a horrible experience, and needlessly complicated.

It is all to save money for giant. I managed to get them working fairly well after the 3rd bleed, it's a smart option to get rid of them

I'm looking to go on a 6 month tour in south america with these (hopefully by june) should i be concerned?
@RobinHughesTriathlon2 жыл бұрын
@@cycloneranger5354 if they work at the moment don't stress it. They just aren't a very good system from an engineering and performance point of view. Unfortunately upgrading at the moment would be quite expensive due to price hikes
@patricklowry56832 жыл бұрын
@@cycloneranger5354 For a 6 month tour, you may wish to consider a double-sided mechanical system, such TRP's Spyre. (These are nothing like the cheap single-sided mechanical discs that most folks are used to, the TRPs actually work well).

this tutorial is as straight to the point as these horrible brakes.

@@kelvs45 the brakes are terrible. even if set up well they perform poorly in comparison to full hydraulic brakes from a 105 or grx groupset. there is really no comparison. it’s a design flaw.

IF YOU THINK ABOUT BUYING A BIKE WITH CONDUCT SYSTEM.. THINK AGAIN!!!! PLEASE DON'T BUY IT!!! IT WILL PUT YOUR LIFE IN RISK. YOU WILL REGRET IT. YOU WILL LOOSE MONEY AND JOY OF CYCLING. IT'S A SCAM TO RIP PEOPLE OFF THE MONEY.. BUY TREK OR SOMETHING ELSE..

I don't see why giant thought it was a good idea except to save themselves some 💰💰

Do you know if the Tektro HD-R280 brakes are a Conduct system? Those are the brakes on my new Giant.
