There are hundreds and hundreds of Bushcraftshelters on the Internet, but tis is one of very few I immediately liked thought i would like to build that too! But i live in Switzerland, where you can't even shit in your own Forest without needing a governamental permission....

Zdar Same, díky.

You must have worked many hours on the A frame end panels before even planning this overnighter. The structure could serve for months. Satisfying! Glad to see the components left together for easy access.

Thats how you learn, :if you survive it} you build them then find out what is wrong, problem is , every channel digs their first one in a run off, why, because 3 /4ths of the work is already done, but ,if you get caught asleep during a flash flood, the tiniest little puddles can get deadly. Please stop digging in runoffs and low areas it will get people killed. Also , don't dig under a hill, it will collapse. dig the top off , cover it with thick branches and put a tarp covered by no more than inches of dirt . The trick to shelters is to survive them. 2 feet of dirt falling on you when you are asleep and on your back, can easily kill you
@volmanbushcraft8 ай бұрын
I went by the other day and the shelter is still standing. There is bedrock at the site, so there is no risk of landslide and there really isn't a flash flood in the middle of the forest, is there? This is the blinded upper end of a forest ravine, which someone may mistake for the original riverbed.

I went by the other day and the shelter is still holding. And it's had a few storms and rains. Having the hammock with me, I can sleep in it again, even if the devils are marrying in the sky.
