In watching your video I am reminded of the struggles encountered when I would visit my 70+ year old wheelchair bound aunt in the early 1970s when I would take her shopping for the day in a bigger city in the Midwest. I would have to park close to the curb so she could get in her chair on the sidewalk. Then when we got in a store the aisles were not even wide enough for her to roll her chair through. ADA has helped people with physical challenges but it is obvious from this video that we aren't there yet!

You mentioned during this video of a circumstance where you found yourself alone in nature, without communications out. Are you aware of electronic devices that provide communications ability from anywhere? (Garmin inReach Mini 2 is one such device.)

I am aware! I purchased a Garmin in reach once I started exploring more on my own. Thanks for suggesting it though.

I've wanted to devise a Velocity Activated Grey/Yellow Tank/Drain. The idea is the tank would hold liquid until the Van reaches Highway Cruising Speeds (45MPH+) and then gradually drain it's contents, dispersing it's Contents normally on pavement and hopefully resembling the discharge of an AC sweatline.

That is an awesome park. I love that the trail is not paved. Way to go on the uphill. I am in a wheelchair as well and try not to let it limit myself as well. I cannot wait to try kayaking. He was definitely an idiot to not see you as a complete person regardless of your disability.

I love the natural pathway too!! I wish there were more places like it. Kayaking is the best. It’s so freeing. I also love pulling up to shore and getting into my wheelchair and seeing everyone’s heads practically explode because they weren’t expecting the wheelchair! I hope you get to experience it soon.

I am hemiplegic due to a hemorrhagic stroke at 52. I am only three years in but doing well because I believe in myself. I totally get the pain side of it as well as the spasticity. It’s a battle. I was born in Alaska and hope to drive from Maine to AK someday designing a rig in my head and on paper.. There is no shortage of van life vids. Keep your disability, and how you figure out this or that, front and center. It’s why I’m here. You are amazing! Oh and F that loser who broke up with you you deserve a real man not a pansy…….

People come and go in your life for a reason. In your case you grew from the experience and came out better than ever. You are where you are meant to be. Be proud. Thats prairie tough. My wife of 21 yrs has mobility issues. Its a compromise. Sometimes you just have to either go for those solo hikes/bike rides or pass it up and find something you both can do. Not always ideal, but I knew that when signing up.😊 You found yourself and in a matter of time your true partner will find you. I will look into Issabel Lake. Next adventure starts near Kamloops next week.

Greetings, I am a disabled veteran. I have degenerative arthritis in both knees and my right foot. I have about 20% mobility. I mostly use a wheelchair and occasionally a walker. Retirement is coming up in about a year. You have convinced me that I have the ability to hit the road and enjoy nature. Maybe not in a van, but I was thinking a class a toy hauler or a class c toy hauler. That way I could carry my wheelchairs and walker. Thank you for the motivation and inspiration. You are great.

I was chair bound many years ago but because of alot of attitude and self determination I got out of the chair by luck and haven't been back since but with age I run a higher chance of going back so when I am talking with someone like yourself I never show the p word but I give huge respect because of personal experience, so dam proud of you and anytime if ur near my way and you anything done work wise I will best I can to help out and yup even if you want to park the van and do a lil tour around by all means stay for a while and yes I even still have my chair ramp so up golden for house usage ! Amazing lady love your videos thanks for sharing them !
