Hello. The PVA glue with which I fixed the ground on the tank, this dumpling glitters, what should I do?
@sticky__fingers118 күн бұрын
I spray isopropyl alcohol first and then pour watered down pva glue next. If yours is glittering maybe spray paint a matt paint or cover the ground with grass.

I just saw Part 2 of this build, and I'm glad to see the building process for the tank itself. About the only thing I would have done differently would have been to leave off the pioneering tools, tow cables, sheet metal fender skirts (4:37,) and bow machine gun, since the hull was to be buried. That said, your weathering of rust patina and the battle damage really makes this a stand-out model that helps get your diorama idea across! This is an old, inexpensive kit that has its origins way back in 1970, with various parts added over the decades. Though not up to current standards, there is still a place for these old, "legacy kits" for young new modelers to gain experience (with pocket money-friendly prices,) older modelers to make nostalgic builds (with pension-friendly prices,) and of course, projects like yours where an expensive, state-of-the-art kit would be unnecessary as well as cost-prohibitive. Thanks for sharing this with us! 82nd Like.

Glad you liked the video! 👍 I wasn't planning on attaching the "unnecessary" extras, but got I carried away with the build and by the time I realised my mistake it was easier to leave them attached.

Your work is very labor-intensive, and it shows well in the finished diorama! The weathering patina on the Tiger is excellent, though I question whether the bow machine gun, tow cables and pioneering tools would have been left on the hulk when they buried it in the cobbled street. Though some may think your battle damage is excessive; I've seen plenty of photos of Tiger 1's that looked far worse, and it makes sense that a scarred veteran like this would have been repurposed as a dug-in turret bunker. As for the shell casings, you probably could have gotten away with even more spent shells and ammo boxes since all the photos I've seen of similarly dug-in tanks were practically buried in them. I've been wanting to build a "Pantherturm," or a similarly dug-in Panzer IV, for some time now. Seeing this might just get me moving! Thanks for sharing this! 72nd Like.

Thanks for the comments. 👍I enjoy making the dioramas and I wanted to do something different with this old and cheap kit. Better to wreck this kit than an expensive kit.

Good video and build. Am currently building this very same kit but making into a Japanese version. Giving a Japanese camo scheme, markings, and a crew member. Japan bought 1 Tiger, 1 Panther D, and 2 versions of the Panzer III from the Germans during the war, though they were in France at the time and had no way to transport those vehicles to Japan. The Germans eventually took those vehicles back because they desperately needed them for their own use.

@sticky__fingers15 ай бұрын
I found a camo pattern online, blew the image up to the same proportions as the kit and printed it off and used it as my template. Gives pattern a softer line than using masking tape directly on the kit, it's a bit fiddly but worth the effort.

Built one last year with my son, the tracks were about an inch short, went with some nice resin ones of ebay, only about $13, and they added the correct "sit" to the tracks.
@sticky__fingers15 ай бұрын
The tracks from Tamiya were a decent fit considering they were not designed for the Panther A, I'll have to check ebay next time I need some tracks.
@hussar00125 ай бұрын
I wish you a good job, but it is very anachronistic to start from such an old and ugly model to make a Panter model in 2023, the photoetchings are certainly not enough: from the lack of the central double wheel, to the cannon block and above all, since you have purchased nice tracks link by link, immediately replace the spare ones on the sides of the tank.
