Awesome review! I’m planning on getting one but I will be fielding it, all the reviews I’ve watched showed pretty good accuracy and I bet with a different inner barrel and bucking it would be a laser

Like Matt, I like the mechanics of the cards. I would like to see the clear cards with similar mechanics. However... I can't see playing this. Seems like it is a game for people who have not had bad stuff happen to them and their family. Not really loving that vibe.

Good content but their customer service and shipping is a mess. I had a sub for almost a year and they screwed up 4 months worth of boxes. And never made any effort to fix it. I love their Skinny minis and I have backed both KS's and thye are nice minis... But I avoid the box subscriptions as they just cant seem to get it together!
@MrMeanSpeaks Жыл бұрын
Oh and I was on the Pathfinder version which they screwed up a few times! Sending me D&D boxes, not all of us are D&D fans!

Oh that's frustrating! Thankfully I didn't have any shipping issues.

Great video! Would you say this subscription is good for new players? I’ve never really played DnD, but always been interested. I have a 9yo niece and nephew who are curious, and I’m trying to find some all-in-one package that would be easy for us to understand and play through.
@NerdBarrage2 жыл бұрын
Great question! Yes, absolutely. It is really easy to digest and alter if need be. If there is an encounter you don't want your younger players to navigate, use a different one. There are a lot of options! Definitely get at least a few months worth of boxes under your belt so you know where the story is going. Trust me, it makes life a lot easier. Now, if you have never played before, you'll still need the basics such as a D&D Players Handbook and Dungeon Master's Guide. The Dungeon in A Box product has a lot of content but it is a supplement to D&D and does not contain all the rules and DM options. It also refers to these manuals for stats on occasion when it's something that already exists. Good luck and have fun!

I was super enthralled by these when they first came out so I really appreciate this review: the stuff that bothered you would absolutely bother me as well, particularly the sloppy art (that cutoff canon shocked me)

One of the biggest issues I have with it is that on many maps the grid seems haphazardly thrown on top of the image, with little regard for how things line up. Is that a space where movement is clear, or do I have to climb over that barrel that extends 1/4 of the way into the square? Which square do I need to be in to go through that doorway that is half in one square and half in the other?
@bonesita882 жыл бұрын
Definitely some rough artwork and spatial issues. It is easy to just flip to a ready map, but those hard to see lines have absolutely led to confusion in combat in our games.

Great overview! Going to play 7-player game this weekend for my birthday and we are definitely in for a 4 hour battle with a cake break somewhere in there. I originally had the Skirmish edition (5p) so I've been looking forward to the full experience for years. I'm going to play Targaryen mostly due to being exclusive to this edition. Looking at these comments, it might not be the best house but I do have a ton of potential friends to help me even the playing field!

I knew of a group of adventurers in the 90’s from the village of North Bank who would have made that castle their base. They had 2 elf cousins, a fighter named Stone would have used that castle to hand out justice he would have filled that jail lol. The wizard Billy became a bard and would throw parties and concerts in a castle like that.

Yes, yes. I know the heroes you speak of well. I think fondly of their adventures together. In fact, I maintain ancient scrolls documenting theirs, and MANY others lives. Those were dangerous and tough times. Their god was unforgiving. Great adventures, great friends, great memories. Experiences I have never forgotten nor will I ever. Thank you sir Robert of Dabbs!

Great job, Matt ! I don't play RPG myself, but I like watching games online, and your DM screen is one of the best I've seen. Such a cool idea. Not only for RPGs, but just for the beauty of it. I can see something like that on my wall. ^^ Do you intend to do live games ? Oh, and here's an idea I saw once in a video : you could add subtle touches of green on the stones, for a moss effect. It adds color and life.
@NerdBarrage2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! As far as live RPG games or video of our games, no plans to but it is something we have discussed. As far as moss, yes, very cool effect! The one on the left at the end of the video has a bit on it and it looks really good.

Awesome review. I might buy one of these to keep me occupied until the Nerf pulse rifle ships in 2022. For anyone else that doesn't know, the ammo counter only goes to 95, not 99 or 100. In the Aliens mythos, the manufacturer of the pulse rifle instruct you to not load the gun past 95 rounds or it will jam, hence the 95 on all or most replicas...
