You mean the song of American & Israeli resistance against Hamas. Down with Jihadism. End anti Israel extremism.

Make his fight on the hill in the early day Constant chill deep inside Shouting gun, on they run through the endless grey Oh they fight, for the right, yes, but who's to say? For a hill, men would kill, why? They do not know Stiffened wounds test their pride Men of five, still alive through the raging glow Gone insane from the pain that they surely know For whom the bell tolls Time marches on For whom the bell tolls Take a look to the sky just before you die It's the last time you will Blackened roar, massive roar fills the crumbling sky Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry Stranger now are his eyes to this mystery Hears the silence so loud Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be Now they see what will be, blinded eyes to see For whom the bell tolls Time marches on For whom the bell tolls

Hetfield sounds like a little boy. I was there when this first came out (and I mean THERE, in all it's glory) and he sounds like a little boy compared to what he sounds like now. 😅

All I can picture is soldiers in world war two... machine guns... planes bombing.... artillery.... mortars.... grenades... soldiers dying left and right.... rushing through gunfire... then the aftermath.... "For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know. Stiffened wounds test their pride." This song is the ultimate description of war and the trauma in music.

This song accurately describes the battle of Compton Hill, also know as the battle of Shy's Hill during the Battle of Nashville Dec 14th and 15th 1864. John McArthur, on his own initiative, ordered his three brigades to charge the hill. McArthur's attack broke the Confederate line and soon threatened to sweep up Hood's whole army. Col. William Shy of the 20th Tennessee died trying to hold off the Union onslaught-Compton's Hill was renamed Shy's Hill in his honor. The boys from Minnesota were so angry that the brave Colonel and his men fought to the death. They captured him then put him on his knees and shot him right between the eyes with a Colt revolver. They then speared him up on a tree at the top of that hill with a rifle and bayonet. If you ever in Nashville, it is right next to downtown. I always go there and I play this song.

Moral indecency is normalized. We’re all doomed. It’s only a matter of time. There’s nothing to live for that isn’t narcissism. Get ready for the end. It’s inevitable

Esta canción es un jodido temazo. La intro es demoledora, pero enigmática y misteriosa a la vez. La lírica es poesía. Creo que es mi favorita de Metallica. Coincide con el título de un libro de Hemingway sobre la guerra civil española.
