Awesome day…bro…PLEASE use a circle hook…rarely will you have them swallow…and vast majority of the time they are hooked in the corner of the mouth. It isn’t a problem with the regs…but the hook you are using 🎣🙏🏻💯🍻🤙🏻 Congratulations on a sweet day 🔥
@Eric_Castillo_Fishing2 күн бұрын
People get mad when I set circle hooks😅 but no I hear ya! Thanks for watching!
@pnwpaddler2 күн бұрын
@@Eric_Castillo_Fishing People get mad at everything😂. I was just providing a solution to your problem, because you legitimately seemed to care that fish were getting gut hooked and having to be released…which sucks! It’s the reason circle hooks were developed and what they are specifically designed to do/not do. As for setting circle hooks…that’s up to you…you will hook less fish by pulling it out of there mouth when you set hard like we do with every other hook. However, that doesn’t hurt anyone or anything, but your own hook up numbers. Not sure why people care if you do or don’t 😂 World is changing ever more people fishing…and taking from the same resources…isn’t sustainable. So we must adapt and change with the times…if we want fisheries for future generations that is. Appreciate the channel…love that fishery! Can’t wait to be back down there…getting a couple weeks plus in June of hitting it daily morning and evening 🎣🍻🤙🏻🔥 See ya on the water….and tight lines🎣

Dude, when you got a topwater hit you wait till you feel the weight of the fish before you set the hook. 9 times ofut of 10 the fish will hook itself when he blows up on it.

Great video and hookups on trout &flounder. I live in San Antonio but used to live in Corpus years ago. I was a member of the OSO wade fishing club, our base fishing was on both sides of the OSO bridge. Can people still park on the base side of the bridge? Also I caught my personal best trout there on live shrimp but I’m an artificial guy. I caught my gator trout between the south shoreline of college and bridge😎

Love the vids! That huge flounder was nice! Follow thru with the bait casters. Its a throw with leveling out arm action and slight thumb tension...not fast throws. The spool is your friend. But I'm sure you don't need me to tell you how to handle gear. Love you passion for the Salt Life.
