I have Invisalign. Do you use elastics with your Invisalign patients? If so, can you explain how yours works? Do you have hooks on your Invisalign? I have had Invisalign for 13 months now with no elastics, but I just had a surgery where now I have to use elastics to pull down my upper canines. My set up is odd, I’m just curious how other people are doing it. Thank you for any info 🙏🙏🙏 PS: I don’t have any hooks on mine. My ortho just cut my aligners by hand to make a spot to hook them on, but I can’t get mine on at all. I’m going back next week to see if we can fix it or find another solution.

I just came after putting it on my right side... Hurts really bad ... I can't even open my mouth... Dentist told that I can take it out only while eating and brushing... And then reput it again...😢.. I have a habbit of sleeping with open mouth... And now I can't even sleep properly 😭

The dentist my parents took me to when I was a child would only ever numb me up when he had to do something "serious" ... like extracting a tooth. I guess he must've been "old school" or something, but nope... no needles for poor little me back then. And that was in the late 1970s/early 1980s. Needless to say that I absolutely dreaded any dentist appointment back then. I distinctly remember one occasion where I did get some Novocaine from him, he sent me back to the waiting room for the stuff to take effect and so that he could work on my mom first. When his assistant came to call me back into the practice, she freaked out because out of sheer nervousness and terror of having to get back into the chair, I had chewed open my lower lip (without realizing it, because it was numb) and was thus bleeding like a stuck pig.

Can people with front tooth crown and receding gums wear braces or Invisalign?

I want to get my daughter teeth straighteners but she eats and drinks beverages that stain and she lays things down and loses things like glasses, water bottle . She also can be lazy with molar brushing and flossing.

I use toothpaste with fluoride and I believe it is a good treatment to remineralize your teeth and reverse caries. Here in Germany there’s no fluoride in tap water and as you stated it’s best to be used topically and not systematically

Getting my left front tooth pulled soon, it’s rotting and the damn dentist told me it was something else, but the first dentist I went to told me it was INFECTED. It only hurts once a month out of nowhere and it’s annoying but I usually take ibuprofen for it, but I think it’s time to get it pulled. And I tell ya, I’m looking forward to the feeling of the dentist pulling that tooth out of my mouth. ❤

My name is Sarah Sebastian I have my braces for above 8 months . The orthodontist just removed my bite blocks at my last visit. But my overbite or overjet is still over. The told going to need rubber bands in my treatment plan. My question do they hurt and how long into your treatment do start wearing them.

I believe these are the signs for Gingivitis. My gums aren't inflamed, don't bleed when I floss and I don't have bad breath but I've been told I have gum disease since the space between my teeth are all 5-5. I asked my dentist about this and they informed me usually gingivitis and gum disease go kind of hand in hand but not always. Gum disease if I'm not mistaken primarily refers to the bone of your teeth wearing down and creating a gap between gum and teeth. Am I mistaken?

The dentist I was going to in the mid-2000's did a root canal in several teeth. I had several cavities due to low vitamin d levels that were not deep. I had to be IV sedated because of a severe gag reflex. They took x-rays of my mouth when I was sedated before doing the cavity treatment. I learned when I woke up that he hollowed out the teeth and did root canals. I wish he would have put that in the consent form that root canals were going to be done. I would not have signed the form. He told me that was the new way of doing cavities and then bonding the filling to the tooth. He said that he used to leave the nerve alone, but patients complained about severe pain, so from then on, he removed the nerve, but left a small portion of the nerve, so the tooth would stay alive. I felt that was overtreatment, but what's done is done.
