Rodrygo, Aurélien Tchouaméni and Eduardo Camavinga are system players? Rodrygo as never been given the freedom to play his best and when they put him out on the LW to play Vini Jr he as never failed. Aurélien Tchouaméni i must admit as been out injured a lot but when ever he plays does his job well both as CDM and at CB. Now those two position takes discipline and he as prove that so i don't think he would have a problem playing outside of Real Madrid. Eduardo Camavinga and his agent need to have a talk with Real Madrid as to what role he will play at the club so he can get his future sort out. A couple of weeks ago, after Real Madrid won the champions league, everyone was saying that Vinicius Junior is going to win the Ballon Dor and I told people that there’s no clear frontrunner for this award until the EUROs and Copa América has been played. When you watch him play for Real Madrid particularly in the champions league, you would think that he’s the best player in the world because of how much he’s a difference maker for them in big games, but he’s a shadow of his former self with the Brazil national team and if he doesn’t have a good Copa América as it hasn’t gotten off to a great start for him, he can go from being seen as the world’s best player to a systems merchant who can’t perform outside of Ancelotti and Madrid.

When a “Ballon Dor contender” who’s going into his prime and is being taken off for his national team with 25 minutes to go when your team needs a goal, I don’t think that’s a good look for football and that should be incredibly concerning for Vinicius Junior. They were right to sub him off against Costa Rica because he was stinking it up for 65 minutes and did absolutely nothing. When I say this I’m not trying to say that he has become a bad player overnight, he’s a great player, but he’s a different player whenever he’s playing outside of Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid and for the Brazil national team he has just 3 goals in 31 games. After the champions league final, I said that the only thing stopping him from winning the Ballon Dor is him having a bad Copa América based off of how poor he’s been at international level. When we talk about legacy and who’s the best player in the world we need to balance out a player’s achievement at club level to what we see from them when they play for their country. As great as it is to be winning the champions league every season, he needs to be doing more for his country so that he doesn’t get criticized for only showing up at club level. For someone who’s in the conversation for being the best player in the world, that is such a poor record and beyond stats, he’s not as impactful as he is for Brazil as he’s been for Real Madrid and there’s a feeling that he’s not even their best player and is only starting games because of his name. As I said before, it’s not a good look for the game when a player of his caliber frontrunner to win the Ballon Dor is being subbed off when your team needs a goal and he’s supposed to be Brazil’s main man since Neymar isn’t there. Every time he puts on that Brazil shirt, he forgets how to play football and of course it’s one game I understand that, but if Vini continues to underperform for Brazil at the Copa América, it’s going to hurt his chances of winning the Ballon Dor.

As long as Madrid continues to win La liga and especially the champions league their players will always be in the ballon d’or conversation. Barca I think has some players that are better than some real Madrid players but if barca doesn’t win the champions league and/or la liga then madrid players will be regarded as better.
