I just picked up the MIJ hybrid ii. I went in to get the MIA Strat and left with the MIJ. The MIJ felt way better to play - incredible neck! It also sounded way better than the MIA Strat in my opinion. The MIJ Strat in this video also sounds way better than the MIA. Japanese Fenders over American any day.

I think there’s more of a controlled feeling in a Gibson. I’m a complete epiphone player cause I’m broke (although I did replace the bridge with a burstbucker Gibson pickup and it sings), but there’s something about that call and response on a Gibson. But of course that’s expected, don’t be afraid to play epiphone! Tired of it getting shit on

Thing is a lot of NOT gibsons sound better today because as technology and pickups sound better , amps are so much more tuneable , win win , you dont need gibsons , people are rocking gigs with ibenez and budget prs guitars , people lose interest in big brand prices faster today , its easy to replace /swap out cheap humbuckers with jaz toned pickups as they go

Studio is the English word for Epiphone. I have Gibson Les Paul standard, studio, and Epiphone Les Paul studio. The Epi Les Paul studio is a carbon copy of the Gibson. The Gibby Standard is a much better instrument. Not to mention that a used Gibson studio's resale value in significantly lower than the Standard. My advice is save your pennies, and get a Standard. You'll be thanking yourself for years to come.

I have had this guitar for a week. Nice sound and vibrola is a nice touch. Only thing is, I cannot get a G# on my last octave High E string. Strange that two frets next to each other have the same note.

You should wind the fine tuners up to full height on a string change as strings will slightly stretch over time.also changing one string at a time if possible makes life easier.

Thanks for playing the guitar! I got mine a couple weeks ago and I love it. Only one thing - the A and D strings keep buzzing when I play frets 5-12, even after the technician tuned it. Do you think this is normal? He even sanded the nut and the saddle a little so I’m not sure if it’s a defect. Any advice is welcome!

Bruh... That 60s from Epiphone was hotter, go watch the blue Epiphone vs 1959 video , it sounded closest to the actual 60s Gibson. Makes me want to go get one purely because the fact that it's even in the same conversation speaks volumes. Amd during the soundcheck one of the employees pokes his head in "that guitar sounded awesome!! Which guitar was that (knowing they were playing vintage Gibson's... It was the blue Epiphone 😅.. would be curious to hear the ibg 60s vs the new 1959 with the larger open book headstock as they both share the same pickups now. Aesthetically its satin vs gloss, and the 60s has a short tenon n the 1959 will have the long tenon but it would still be interesting as hell to hear the difference

love the music you played! A perfect jam, as a amateur player, I must admit that i would love the tabs for the lick at 6:15 as an inspiration :D

Every so slightly, the Heritage is a bit more defined concerning the notes that are played. It's just a tad more precise.

Hey Nick, thoughtful overview and terrific playing with the 214ce Plus. Was your fingerpicking interlude yours, or a published song? Would love to track down the music. Cheers.

Granted that most all guitars need a set up job, mine played like hot garbage out of the box. I'm replacing the pickups. Not a fan of how hot they are, a little thin sounding too. Putting in some TV Jones Powertrons. I'm sure it will sound way better once all that is done.

They are nothing like each other in reality, the Epiphone feels like what it is, cheap chinese plastic covered tat, the Gibson is an Iconic work of art. Also if you buy second hand, Gibsons are much better value for money, you can always get your money back.

I have just bought an almost brand new 22 SG Standard plus a Marshall Dsl 5 cr. Retail price is 1599 Euro for the SG and 399 for the Amp. I was lucky to be the first one responding to the privat ad. I paid 1000 Euro for both😊. The guitar was barely played and the Set up was poor. String height and Intonation. The fingerboard was totally dry. There were 2 micro flaws in the lacquer from the factory. Other than that just some micro scratches. I noticed, that the horn ends of this guitar are a little bit rounded and not as sharp, as on other SGs. Just the same as on your guitar. Maybe its just on the 2022 models. Anyways a nice guitar for a bargain price 😊

Gibson Custombuckers sound better to me than the Heritage pickups, but I wonder if the I potted Gibson pickups would create too. U h feedback when really go balls out with gain. Both guitars rule. I’m from MI, so I chose Heritage, but I’ve got a Gibson Les Paul Tribute and I love that guitar too.
