surely someone had to have asked... any detangler? a little conditioner? olive oil? on the hair...would it not of made it easier to comb out?

Hair oil let's it slip over the knotted strands. Hair is super dry and wants to tangle/matt. Water will make hair expand. My hair knots like crazy when dry. I have to oil it first, then brush tangles out. Makes a huge difference.

I came here just to find out the best way to brush my daughter's long, occasionally tangled hair without causing her pain, and watched ten minutes and forty seconds of two amazing people doing a beautiful task for a young girl in need. I hope so much that she and her mother are in a steady, comfortable living situation now. I myself have been homeless in my life a couple of times, and it is a nightmare I wouldn't wish on anyone. You two women are beautiful souls, and you were angels to this girl when she needed angels the most. This was a beautiful experience.

Girl no need to explain & apologize for yourself! I’m currently in this same bind & have mattes gallore! I 💯 get it!! Experiencing major depression & this is the 2nd time this happened with my hair. I promised myself I would never let this happen again, welp! Addiction fn sucks!!! Alcoholic here - was in recovery but then there’s still the stigma & my work fired me upon return from FMLA to seek treatment. Now back in deep depression & hoping to dig myself out along with taking out these mattes 😢
