46 ABV would be nice. How's availability? Thank you Gentlemen.

Anytime I find an Irish whiskey, that isn't metallic tasting, I get excited. You Dummies can just stay the course with the Irish reviews for a bit. 750ml!!!!!!

Respectable score at 86 --especially for a 40% abv. $45 isn't bad. I'll check it out. Whisky in general has skyrocketed in price --sometimes to ridiculous levels. Wifey laughs at me but I am thankful I purchased most of my bottles a long time ago. Thanks guys!

Age statements on rum aren’t universal, but generally countries that are former English and French colonies list the age of the youngest rum in the bottle, the same as whiskey. Rums from former Spanish colonies don’t follow that rule. Also, English & French style rums don’t allow additives (other than color). Spanish style rums are often sweetened.

You guys both like tequila yeah? I’ve been getting into tequila cocktails lately. And cocktail maybe too fancy a term as I usually just mix blanco tequila and a good mixer. So ginger beer for a Mexican mule, grapefruit soda for a Paloma or club soda for a highball. Reposado tequila is a good sipper! Good banter on the show today! On the twin thing, ugly twins are rather upsetting to me personally 😅

Big difference between the old Mac 12's that were matured in sherry casks they previously held sherry for decades; as opposed to these new Macs with "sherry seasoned" casks that held sherry for a fraction of that time. Wood definitely plays a bigger role than age.

Great review guys. I’m a fan of Waterford and have done a side by side tasting of the original Cuvée with the this release. The original was based on 3 1/2-4yr old stock. The original was v good. The Koffi is a stunner! Both expressions benefit from water imo.

I have this. So it’s not sweet like one would think a brandy is sweet. It tastes like a light rye. As someone said in the comments, like a light rye aged in brandy barrel. It was ok. Nice to have something different. But at the price point I would have gotten another bottle of Hemingway Rye. I would give it a solid 80 pts.

I watch because I'm subscribed to Bart's war game channel. I don't know anything about whiskey and such, but I love watching your vids! It's amazing how intricate the processes are to make whiskey. It just fascinates me! Like how the drops of water come into play when tasting, and all the little details that are involved and relevant to this. Super interesting and you guys are fun to watch!

If Waterford did a Koffi release but didn’t tell us where the grains were from, would it be a Koffi Anon? Would that be a diplomatic term for it? 😂

I saw them at an Irish whiskey tasting, but it was super crowded & it was sadly one of the distilleries I didn't fight my way over to try. Those glass corks are my nemesis, though, especially when they sit a while after opening & it gets extra sticky & you have to really pry them open.
@ScotchTestDummies9 күн бұрын
Haven’t had the sticky yet. Interesting.

@@ScotchTestDummies It happened to me with a bottle of Town Branch. After sharing when I opened it, I forgot about it for a few months. When I went back to it, I needed to pry it with a pocket knife. I think the little bit in the neck dried out at the seal. Or maybe Town Branch uses unusually tight glass corks.

I haven't tasted Waterford, but I can't imagine the terroir of barley could ever survive the distillation process. Whisky ain't wine ✌️

We thought the same thing and then we tasted a dozen different unaged samples. Vastly different. It was amazing. Then add in the four different barrel types. We got to taste the same fields spirit but now in four different casks. Then they pulled down four different pallets with same field but different years and again 4 different types of barrels. Everything computer tracked in massive warehouses and pretty easy to get to because of the pallet system. It was a masters class. Watch them as the years go by. They are going to have some magical bottles.

Greetings from the scottish Highlands I would love to try a finish whisky but can't find it available for delivery unfortunately. I make a very old fashioned whisky that's 100% oats aged in french oak it's from a time when the government taxed malt so my ancestors had to find ways cheap around it I got taught to roast half the oats the other half are raw wish I could send you guys a bottle to try but would be far too expensive, slàinte mhath.

I tried the Green Spot, good nothing great, contemplated the yellow, red etc. then they started skyrocketing in price and I had to let them go. My benchmark Ardbeg Uigeadail price ratio just said no. I keep a Bushmill's Black Bush and maybe a Jameson's Black Barrel on the shelf and that's it for Irish.

great comment, yes the Red Spot is now over $300 here, crazy

Great review! That bottle’s price got hiked up to around $300 in the Dallas area this year. It’s ridiculous. Also, I think it’s a blend of whiskies with seven years being the youngest in the bottle. I think there is some whiskey older than seven years in it too.
