Great interview! IMO, Invasion is the perfect example of a follow-up record actually being better than the previous. Invasion is by far my favorite RATT record with so many hidden gems. Never Use Love is probably my second favorite song right after Lay It Down which 40 years later still melts your face off. lol

As a musician and huge fan of the 80s hard rock. I could listen to Beau all day. He’s such a genius. He’s also a humble, genuine and good guy. He’s always very professional in how he talks about working with the bands he produced. He never really speaks negatively about the musicians he’s worked with.

My Band in the 80's played a ton of Ratt, Lay It Down was by far the most difficult to pull off, its a special jam for sure. Dynamics/production

what you did for Pearcey's vocals was brilliant. Steven has a unique tone , umm quality. Unique for sure, but listening back to these albums, you were brilliant in the effects to fill out the nasaly thin vocals. Love It ALL!!!!

As much crap that Beau got or gets, especially from Ratt, take with a grain of salt. The members in Ratt were and continue to be extremely dysfunctional to say the least. Each member has many issues.

Scott's tape are much more professional than many of the other channels. I especially enjoy his own acting tapes such as his Moving to Florida tapes. The music on all of his tapes is the best. Keep up the good work

Late to seeing the interview, definitely was the drive for their discovery and best songs put out. Undeniable and the RRHOF was a bunch of BS. They should have invited all that contributed. They were all grown ups, or supposed to be. Cheer Dave!

Knew for M.O.D., Mind Funk and Ministry, but didn't have the slightest idea he'd played with Rev Co on Linger Ficken' Good, that's amazing record as well. But of course, Mind Funk Dropped is the most timeless one. That's my kind of stuff, the rarest kind...

Dave had nothing compared to Jack and Matt when it comes to the nuance, subtlety and dimensions of creativity. Dave kept the band within a more monotone dimension, and no doubt they would have split if Jack did not replace him, that's why Eddie did it! There's a reason why Pearl Jam became much better after Dave left. Eddie knew what he was doing.

Sorry but your comment makes zero sense. The whole band was former hair metal glam rockers except Ed, lmao. They just did what he said since he was the meal ticket. The ten album is borderline hair metal and I guess Ed later was embarrassed. How do you join a band whose music you are embarrassed by? They had enough fame by the time they fired Dave to live off those first 3 albums. Seems Dave didn’t buy into the having to be embarrassed we hate fame fake persona.

If Vs. was the first album to come out, and say there never was a "Ten", you could hang it up as far as knowing who Pearl Jam is… You could ask anybody "ever heard of this band called Pearl Jam from Seattle?" ..." Who?" After Ten was released, they could've put out an album of them all belching farting and taking a dump and pissing in the microphone, and it would've gone platinum

The best drummer, not just of Pearl Jam. He makes you appreciate drums in a way that I have never appreciated as much. Just the best, what an incredible talent, and the production on Vs and Vitalogy really bring it out. Oh, and Abruzzo is a beautiful region in Italy. Thank you Mr Abbruzzese.

It’s cliche to say but for me, Invasion was/is an album I can play from start to finish. The production, the sound, the musicianship, just an all-time top ten favorite of mine. The guitar riffs were so cutting if that makes sense. Like razor blades or something. I heard Stephen some years ago talk about why they only had ten and only ten songs per album during their hey day. He said the record company paid for ten tracks and that’s all he would deliver, no more, no less.
