A gratitude journal is very helpful. Prayer, and faith in God is also a key factor. I use my epilepsy and my positive attitude concerning my illness, to bring a focus to Christ and His power in all things, and to bring glory to God therein. "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

This is an amazing video..I am suffering from severe anxiety and fear thinking of the next seizure and Chronic fear and anxiety does produce another seizure. A truthful and strong attitude of I don't want to exit any feeling or emotion in mind has reduce a lot of seizures and enhanced my life. I stopped my medication recently and got another , now i have to build my strength and courage again.

Acceptance is what allowed me to give myself permission to take time off work to focus on my health. Epilepsy has completely flipped my world upside down. But you know what they say, “when one door closes, another opens.”

Whitney, thank you for sharing your story which gives hope to people suffering from epilepsy that there is a cure through surgery. I just wish you could have done your surgery much sooner. You look and sound very healthy!

Have you asked a Neurologist about the possibility of surgery or ketogenic diet? I had my Seizure Tumor surgically removed when I was a Kid.

It was not one year but six years, then the community who know you, had to reject you not to be friends with their children

I was rejected by the whole school and I couldn't tell my parents or report anywhere, am working but still healing from the wounds of rejection, no friends, no husband, only family, I still prefer seating alone because of the stigma, fortunately thanks to medicines and God for reducing the fits

So for my Aura i will hear conversations i have had in the past, or like voices ive heard in the past just before I have a seizure. If i am walking from one room to another or if i am standing up when i start hearing them my body freezes and i have to stand there and listen to the voices of hell (what i call them) till my body seizes up and blacks out. I have recently been having them multiple times a week for a year straight and sleep about 24 to 48 hours after one. It has been the worst year of my life. Had to move back in with my parents and my Girlfriend now ex, left because she couldnt handle my worsening condition.

I am in this situation, never had seizures in my life before , til after turning 39 yrs old and been out of army service for 9 years, driving is not a option for me and is limiting my employment , going on two years this may 2022 , and still dont know why I all of a sudden I have these seizures.im experiencing all forms - tonic-clonic, focal partial and focal complex now nocturnal my 12th seizure in the two yrs was a few days ago in which was a nocturnal one.they seem to occur every 4 months , not every day or multiple in a day ... Just one every 4 months or so..i am stumped?

I had this really scary moment where my mind and body both froze up and it felt like a combination of an aura and a panic attack. My breathing was out of control and my body stiffened up, afterwards my body felt exhausted as if I just ran a 5k. Scary and I couldn’t tell if it was anxiety or an aura.

I tried Keppra with absolutely zero results, then I tried Trileptal, which helped but I still had grand mal seizures and the side effects were horrible. After about 5 years my neurologist finally agreed to "recommend" marijuana, CBD. It changed my life. I’ve been seizure free for the longest period ever. My memory and abilities are coming back, it is an amazing feeling. If you have seizures please try CBD, it won't get you high. I buy a small bottle via the net, 30ml's (1 fl oz) with 2500mg total CBD, 83mg per serving and drip about half a dropper (half a serving) under my tongue twice a day, morning and night. The bottle cost me a little over $100 and lasts about a month. This is a lot more than the pharmaceutical drugs cost, but I would pay 10 times that, because it has had such a positive result for me. Please make sure you buy it from a reputable supplier, with consistent quality. I hope it will help you, like it has helped me.
