Exactly!! Not even any of the V8 vehicles I’ve driven cruise that low. The least I’ve seen was around 1800 rpm. Horribly painfully slow car. Almost fell asleep doing the 0-60 pull lol

Much higher shift points. That is basically what stock 6.2’s and 6.0’s shift points are 5700-5800 rpm. I think the 5.3 should shift at 5700-5800 rpm stock.

I had an engine light on one time for an O2 sensor couple years back. Replaced it and it never came on for anything else since then. I am as shocked as you are honestly.

i know this is old but think about its not bad for such a heavy vehicle my 2020 jeep compass does 0 to 60 in 12.81 seconds with my 2.4 tiger shark engine

It does okay 0-60 but the reason I put “bad” in the title was because the transmission was reluctant to shift and vibrated the vehicle really bad. Also that jeep compass must be pretty heavy! My equinox 2.4 does about a 10 second 0-60 but obviously not near as nice as your jeep. Thanks for commenting

I have the same year and color, im 18 amd the second owner. 46K miles for $3,300. That vortec is awesome it can haul ass when it needs to but has really good low end torque especially in 4 low

nice it was my first vehicle i got it when i was about to turn 17 and it still runs good to this day 3 years later. currently in the process of putting new plugs and wires on it. at idle its shaky and replaced vacuum lines for hvac and a couple other odds and ends. big concern right now is the oil cooler lines that go to the oil filter adapter underneath the skid plate. I’d check those out if I were you, mines leaking oil out of there and has been for a while I just recently discovered.

Part of the issue is the resonator making it loud and misfire a bit. The whistle is just a timing chain related issue because it went away after it was properly replaced by a different mechanic.

yes so the fuel gauge is backwards. i learned the hard way, by putting fuel additives in and it died on me. not knowing there was barely any gas in it, i added some and it fired right up. i filled it all the way and the gauge was pegged at empty lol.

@@southwestohiodashcam6838honestly you’re better off buying a used Toyota sequoia or a used Lexus GX460/470 because those seem to have better transmissions and generally last longer than these newer Tahoes/suburbans/ Yukons/escalades. The newer ford Expedition would be ok too but idk if the EcoBoost is a good choice.

The suburban I’ve been looking for one for over a year and the right one came along during my look over of the trailblazer. I always wanted a suburban ever since my dad owned his ‘09 and he bought that June of 2020, and sold it in august I believe, of 2021. Dark blue with gray interior. My mom did have a trailblazer LS 2004 for a little while around 2019 but it always had ongoing issues. Soon I’ll post a 0-60 on the suburban. 👍

Yea these transmissions on the GMTK2XX platform aren’t known for reliability. At around 100k miles they fail. This suburban has just had a new transmission put in and is at 136k miles. To my knowledge the previous gen 6 speeds were better but I have heard of some faults

I am the same way. My 2012 equinox has a digital speedo and I never have it set to that. Instead, I use instantaneous fuel economy

GM’s transmissions are so iffy. Especially the 8 speed. This has quite the ratios too. First to second 40 mph second to third at 70 quite different compared to the earlier 6 speeds.

Very true. The GMT900 platform with 6 speeds that I know of reached about 60 mph just while shifting to 3rd gear. This 2017 however is different like you said, and it’s on its second transmission

@@charlesrodriguez7984Right, exactly. Might even be worse than the 4l60e from back in the day. Two of my trucks have over 200k miles with the original 4l60e transmission and still shifts smooth as butter. The main problem is the owners don’t treat them right and also don’t use tow/haul with heavier loads. I think with these newer transmissions it’s a factory defect. As you said, typical GM!!
