I just found your channel because of this video, looked around at a few other videos and subscribed.👍 Less than 2 months ago I picked up the 10mm Banshee and I absolutely love it. But I was not really thinking about hunting with it, in fact, I just picked up the MK3 Banshee in 308.... With the thought of doing exactly what I am now watching you do with the 10mm I already had.🤣 Oh well, I like them both.😁 Hello from Missouri.👋

Hi! I was using a 450 bushmaster ar before the banshee. It was so heavy and loud even with suppressor. The banshee is a dream to handle and has very little recoil. It’s also hearing safe with suppressor. You should try it hunting. I bet you will love it! Thanks for commenting and subscribing!

@@DrPorschephile Yeah, the Mk3 308 Banshee is a lot heavier than the MK4 10mm, like 3lbs heavier if recall right...

I have the Aea challenger.457 with the power valve, I wonder 🤔 if my 340g home made slugs @ 650 fpe would do the same job?
@DrPorschephile Жыл бұрын
Hard to say without knowing bullet design and lead hardness. These MrHollowPoint slugs have never exited a pig. They expand up to .7-.8 in at air gun velocities. Short of shooting a pig yourself, you could try shooting some ballistic gelatin. If the slug penetrates more than 10-12in it will probably exit pig and likely will do less damage. Of course, shot placement is MUCH more important than bullet performance in dropping animal instantly.
@dickdyson3100 Жыл бұрын
@@DrPorschephile I kinda figured this. I can make hollow points but being a .459 size barrel I found one mold but it's only 220g hollow or 235g wadcutter. I won't be accurate at 1100 fps with that power valve. Can't wait for the regulator that should come out.
@DrPorschephile Жыл бұрын
@@dickdyson3100 I see what you mean. However, if you spend more $ on a regulator, you are kind of defeating the purpose of the power valve. I would instead spend those funds on a mold for heavier .457 lead HPs.
@dickdyson3100 Жыл бұрын
@@DrPorschephile Yeah this is true. Stock 400fpe and 12 shots with the mag for a .457 is a good price, building a gen 2 with all the upgrades would for a little more would pissed me off more. Kinda like buying a car and later finding out i can add this and that to make it better then the stock version is still okay in my book. Having all these things in a gun already for the same price would have been better that's for sure, but some like to mod their platforms.
Please don't stop here and give us more. I have the same riffle and what to see what 240g NSA are doing. These area the biggest you can get for the mag for hollowpoints. However ,Benjamin Bulldog .457 rounds @ 285g had some really good power but in wad cutter kinda style. I just put an X on the slug and shot a mag full. I wonder what fps I am getting?
@DrPorschephile Жыл бұрын
Hi Dick! Appreciate your kind words! Yes, the magazine is very limiting as far as your slug weight. That is why I just dont use it and load larger pellets by hand. There are fairly inexpensive chronographs out there but I have found AEA to be pretty honest on what guns will do.

Go into the settings and switch refreshing from ‘A’ automatic, to ‘SA’ semi-auto, so you don’t have to worry about the scope refreshing right as your about to pull the trigger. Just have to give a long press on the power button every 3-4 minutes to refresh the scope or before your getting set up to shoot

Where is a claymore (command detonated mine) when you need one? I wtach videos like this one and think, "Ok, you got [fill in the number] hogs out of [2x to 10x more], which means that in about 4-8 weeks, the pregnant sows that got away will have replaced those loses, with interest (pun absolutely intended.)" As much as I enjoy watching people taking down an invasive species, it's just not enough. You are winning battles but losing the war. Some kind of "area effect" weapon is needed, to kill every individual in the entire sounder at the same time. Otherwise, it's just delaying the inevitable. Thx for posting the video, though. I enjoy watching people using IR tech. I'll have to get myself some, soonest.

Poor shot
@paulhollier63822 жыл бұрын
Not bad, but could use a little improvement perhaps? That's the worst that *I* can say, when the hog goes down like a sack of wet cement on the first shot, from central nervous system trauma. Granted, the hog eventually became (semi?) conscious again, briefly, but there was plenty of time for a "quality assurance" shot, so that hog wasn't getting away. I don't know anything about you, so I really have no idea how good of a shot you are; but it has been my experience that those who are the worst and harshest critics of other ppl's shooting often don't have much of a range record to stand on, themselves. That's why they invest so much energy in putting down other ppl's shooting, and get so much smug satisfaction from doing it, esp. loudly & in public.

I’m a excellent shot been shooting since twelve and I can hit most targets with iron sights then the average can hit with a scope, mind you I am no professional but I am not reckless either. I’ll end this here no need to go on but dude chill because things can get a lot worse (with words) .
