Found one in the Ranking American cereal video, Arin whispers in Dan's ear, and the way he moves his hands is the same way I move mine when I touch something gross. Around 3:12 Same video, Arin starts gagging as soon as he eats the mixed cereal

Idk what episode its in but theres one moment where dan spins around in his chair and then does it again but the other way cuz he has to "unwind" it. that moment was very relatable to me lol

bro knowing that dan is also iffy and particular about food makes me actually feel a lot better bc i am a very picky eater and trying new foods is like mental gymnastics for me but im also friends w a lot of like asian ppl (im white and friends w an indian boy, a chinese girl, a korean girl, and multiple hispanic people) so i get made fun of quite a bit (lovingly but still) for only eating like a plain hamburger (literally a hamburger and the bun, sometimes pickles bc i like pickles bc salt) but like it makes me feel better to know that like yk a grown ass man is like this too and hes a semi functioning member of society so its okay :D

don't think I'm neurodivergent but my anxiety has some overlapping things with ocd and there's a moment in their marvel facepaint power hour where Arin needs Dan to turn so he can paint the other side of his face or smth and Dan does a full 360 then has to 'undo' it and I've never felt so seen loll like I just thought that was a weird thing I did but then I was like omg just right ocd exists !!!! other people experience similar things !!!!!

i love the tradition thats emerging with some of the food episodes, where they try a bunch of food in a category, a bit of each gets added to the kings cup, at the end Arin (and anyone else who wants to) tastes it and at the very end Dan sticks his hands in it

I mean, some of these arent even autism specific, theyre just traits that happen to be exaggerated in autistic ppl, and i dont like the notion that pll cant act certain ways without being labelled as autistic. I actually thinks this makes things harder for people. I also dont think it's healthy to see symptoms in other people's behavior. Autism is way more complicated than a list of behaviors and i dont like the way this video frames it
@ripleydrawsandthings
@ripleydrawsandthings 10 күн бұрын
I’m very sorry, I never meant to show Dan in this light, nor show autism as just a list of behaviors to be checked off. I have already been told that it could be harmful to speculate Dan as autistic. In the future, I will be sure to preface by saying that, while Dan is not autistic, some of the things he does are relatable to me. Also, he does have OCD, and quite a few traits happens to intersect between OCD and autism. This video is also meant for relatability, humor, and neurodivergent joy. It isn’t exactly academic, just things I’ve noticed the boys do that are relatable to me and my friends, who are all across the neurodivergent spectrum. I am only using what I see in myself and others - I would never just slap a label on someone because they had a few traits I saw on a TikTok one time. I know you’ve probably seen a lot of that, which is why you left this comment. Rest assured that this video was well-researched through life experience. :) If you would like a more academic video, one that shows all sides of autism and ADHD, I have a Bluey video that goes in depth with examples of the reasons why I think they are both neurodivergent. If you want a more complete view of autism and ADHD, that may be the video for you! If you ever feel uncomfortable again, or need clarification, please let me know! This is all just for fun - I don’t want to make anyone feel bad.

I mean, I know Arin's ND, as we can actively see him struggle with his symptoms, but are we really still entertaining Dan's "OCD"? Dude can't even describe his symptoms or what OCD is, and when he tries to he's wrong. He's only ever treated OCD as quirky perfectionism, which it explicitly isn't. He's 100% lying and seeing all the other folks open up to him about their OCD just to have him bumble and dodge their questions and refuse to elaborate on anything except "I'm good with numbers" and "I got better and bravely threw my meds into a lake" is just outright disrespectful and harmful. Life with OCD is hard enough when half the people don't pay it any mind or even acknowledge I have it, yet some lying rich kid can pretend to have it on KZfaq and everyone sucks him off. Then again, he's pretending to be a musician too, and that's going just as well somehow despite his only musical ability being "singing" in a weak, monotone head voice. Yet people treat Arin like the literal devil because he doesn't like fucking Sonic

I’m sorry you feel that way. It sucks when you feel like a huge part of yourself isn’t accommodated or noticed by the people around you. However, I will say that I will probably make more GG content in the future, and if you dislike half of the subject matter, then my videos may not be for you. It’s okay to dislike celebrities or their work - in fact, it’s healthy! With parasocial relationships running rampant, it’s good that you know and can express when you don’t like a celebrity. But just because you see part of their life on a screen doesn’t mean you know what their OCD looks like, or how they struggle now. Your story may not look like their’s, and that’s okay. But KZfaqrs are people too, with lives away from their videos. This means there’s a lot of things you don’t see, and it’s impossible to judge a person based on only their content.
@espeoradar

my guy I think it's time to stop interacting with grumps content if you hate Dan this much (I've seen the essays you left on other comments) as someone else whose OCD has been reduced to mostly harmless background noise following treatment, I'd say there's a chance Dan's just isn't as severe as it can get, like mine, which honestly I'm damn grateful about. sure he could just be lying, how tf are we to know? but even if he is lying, that doesn't mean you have to bring yourself down by interacting with his content and that made about him. if this is an Obsession, I get it, but at a point you become responsible for your reactions to your symptoms, especially if it leads to you to interacting with things that upset you. stay away from grumps content, maybe take a break from KZfaq altogether if need be, cus right now this doesn't seem like a healthy response to a video someone made of something that makes them happy.

This is kinda unrelated, and I dont mean to hate on the creator of this video, but... I dont like how the internets sort of "romanticized" neurodivergence. Being neurodivergent isnt a quirky personality trait, its usually more of a problem. Me personally, I have been diagnosed with ADHD and most likely some form of autism, and I can safely say its done more harm than good. Sure, I know how to draw Sonic the hedgehog, but I also dont know how to talk to people. Like, I physically do not know how. again, NO HATE to the creator. just something that reeeeally bugs me.
@ripleydrawsandthings

I completely understand! My aim for this video is to not only to have a few laughs, but to show neurodiverse joy, which is rarely shown. However, I am aware that not everyone has the privilege of feeling that sort of joy, whether it be because of its traits making it difficult to live or because not everyone has accommodations/support systems. I also don’t seek to romanticize any condition, but just to tell some jokes and show that neurodivergent people can be successful, even if that has many different definitions. I don’t know if that was a concern for you, but I want you to know that this video is purely to relate to my own experience. If you want a more analytical view of ADHD and autism, I have a Bluey video that talks about heavier topics and presents things in a more logical way.

@@cajunking5987 everyone stims. That’s a fact. Neurodivergent people stim more often than neurotypical people. People with OCD are neurodivergent and Dan has OCD. These are facts. Stimming isn’t a bad thing. Examples of “normal” (neurotypical) people stimming, is stepping on a crunchy dry leaf for the sound, tapping fingers/feet rhythmically, bouncing leg, playing with hair etc. it’s not a negative thing.
