I built all his car models as a kid.. I have that shirt in the closet.. Big creative influence on me. I musta drawn 1,000 weird cars and chopped up 1,000 model cars.

A humble guy for all that he's done. My old man grew up on his stuff and so did I. We still share this. A shame Ed's not around anymore. We still have Von Franco.

It has been 16 years since this video was posted. Why have NO auto manufacturers nor racing companies such as NASCAR, NHRA, F1 adopted this springless concept? That alone proves this approach is unreliable and not worth the cost.

In my teens saw Shirley Muldowney at DETROIT racetrack, a cooler and a blanket on the grass. Hot summer nights back then, no A/C, windows open, consisted of falling asleep trying to catch a breeze while listening to the drag races off in the distance.
Awesome !!! Remember the night a right rear wheel broke off one of the modifides and took out the flag man. Dadand I standing about15ft away.

I remember the cackles running nitro. I would stand next to the fence adjacent to the starting line. Smelling the nitro while it burned my eyes feeling like i had sand in them.

I will forever remember Ed Roth for his vision. As a kid I recall buying bubble gum packs with his reations printed on cards and a few stickers. Those are so precious to me and the feeling and imagination it brought out in me. My dad would take me to the autorama and of all the reations there it was the Roth cars and trikes that brought the most excitement. The Barris cars also where unique,I recall vividly when the Batman equipment came to town and once again dad took me there .I got a photo of me sitting in the Batmobile and the Batkart, the helicoppter was there, great memories. But above all Big Daddy Roth inspired me to draw. And draw I have.In sixth grade I won a local postal award for comming up with a mail truck drawing,A model T hot rod box truck inspired by Roth.He will.always live on in millions of inspired kids that wondered at those crazy .monster piloted creations ripping up the pavement with there smoking tires flaming pipes and the look of maddness in there eyes. He was and will always be remembered as a great creator of art of its own kind. There will be others but never another Big Daddy Ed Roth. Thank you for doing what you did.In Fink we trust !

Ducati has improved their Desmo design to over 22,000 mile adjustment intervals on their street bikes. MotoGP bikes are dominating the power wars as Honda and Yamaha can't keep up. 18,000 rpm redlines.MotoGP engines are prototype, racing ony engines not destined for street use.
