I do the same as coach, I ask people to take their phones out to film themselves, to see the "extra unnecessary" movements are NOT aware of ...that's game changer when they see the details that composes a good shot technically and effectively to challenge opponents.

Hi, interesting idea! I think that this is something for advanced players though. If I freeze frame your shots at then end, you prepare high, but right before hitting a vibora, you move into "the closed racket behind head position" that generally is taught. You have the practice and experience to quickly do this adjustment before hitting, but someone who started playing padel and know approaches the vibora likely will not. Yes, preparing differently will telegraph your shot, but in my opinion, for the majority of players that is a lesser risk than the quick adjustment necessary if you prepare equal

Finally I was waiting a video for smash, by far my worst worst shot. Thank you Coach. I would appreciate if you could give us practical drills to improve by ourselves. In my case the "efecto latigo" that the arm, forearm and wrist do before the hit is the thing I am struggling the most. Thank you for your valuable videos.

Coming from 40 years of playing tennis and less than 8 months playing padel, I have to confess I agree with you. Tennis used to be interesting back in the 80s, but now it's absolutely boring, so boring that when someone like Alcaraz came up, it's almost an immediate star. I struggled and keep on learning, and I'm becoming better and better. The walls are the most beautiful and difficult part to get used to, but its so amazing to learn and be good at....Yes, in fact, padel is very different from tennis, but it helps a lot having the " touch" of the tennis experience. Padel is just a LOT more fun. A lot!

This is such a beautiful video, I'm new to this game and been playing for three months. I struggle with early preparation for overhead shots(I'm old 😊) and having the same preparation for different overhead shots is such a simple and beautiful solution. U can change the pace and padel face but preparing like taking the padel behind ur head for vibora felt so unnecessary , feel moving ur feet to create space to hit the ball is more important for a vibora than the correct racket position

This is very, very good advice! I find it generally effective to play down the central third until the opponents give us an opening, pressing them back. This idea playing to the ‘inside leg’ is something I instinctively do as a result, but I’d never really analysed it like this - it really does make sense! Thanks for posting this.

Such good advice. For us "senior players" who can't kick it out X 3m, this is indeed the "bread and butter" shot. Easy to play. Very little risk. Make them play one more ball............ KEEP THE NET ! Love it.... all day long.

Saludos

We promise you to address these two “subjects” you have asked me for on future videos!!! But in my humble opinion, grip higher ( or fingers hanging below the racquet grip). Regarding what tension you should have when gripping your racquet? Well, it depends on the situation… for blocking grip tighter, for lobs or smash the wrist need to be more loose so the gripping less tighter…
@nexxxuno
@nexxxuno 6 күн бұрын
So you are basically doing the preparation of the vibora as part of the shot, i.e. you prepare it "wrong", and then just a second before the shot you move the racket to the correct position :D . It's pretty strange and it makes the shot more difficult by adding 1 more step to the shot while you could do it during preparation where you usually have much more time. I mean, this technique you teach makes it actually harder to do a proper vibora, it's usually easier to learn more than one preparation but easier shots instead of one preparation and trickier shots! Moreover, about the disguise part, what they usually teach you is doing exactly the opposite if you want, that is: you prepare the vibora and then from that position you can perform a slower vibora and achieve a more defensive shot, similar to a bandeja. I'm not saying this doesn't work obviously, I'm just saying you are making the vibora MORE complex with this style!
@tastyplayhard
@tastyplayhard 6 күн бұрын
I think you have misunderstood. The preparation is racket head up. From there you create the spin by hitting the ball on the side or you can go for a flat shot etc. You don’t need to drop the racket head behind your head to hit a vibora. Gabo does it in this example, since it’s natural to him to hit that way but he can hit it racket head up as well. Every shot we teach it’s preparation, shot and follow through. Not preparation, another preparation and shot. With disguise only the shot and followthrough changes.
@nexxxuno
@nexxxuno 6 күн бұрын
@@tastyplayhard I look at how you perform the shot and you move the racket to the "correct" position as part of the shot, and that's ok, otherwise you wouldn't be able to perform the vibora starting from up there!

@tastyplayhard

Ruby makes less sound since it’s stiffer foam and the ball output is faster
@kosarszky
@kosarszky 10 күн бұрын
@@tastyplayhard less means shorter? Usually the harder the racket the more loud it is. If i understood correctly, Ruby is made from a harder foam, right?
@tastyplayhard
@tastyplayhard 9 күн бұрын
Yeah the sound is shorter but also less. The sound depends on many factors like the carbon as well. We have now tested the 12k carbon and that has much louder sound in the same racket with same foam. Also the painting in the Ruby has body, (the sparkles, the chameleon mix) and that affects too. But to us, it’s the most silent racket from ours. And regarding your question on our webpage, we will have the rackets again more or less the same price in July 💜💜🌟
@kosarszky
@kosarszky 9 күн бұрын
@@tastyplayhard thank you for the detailed answer :) So the chameleon painting modifies the sound, meaning that it is less louder than the red one?
@tastyplayhard
@tastyplayhard 9 күн бұрын
The chameleon paint is not as loud , but it’s more about the carbon 3k which reduces the echo since the squeres are smaller and tighter. The red Ruby has two layers of paint (white and red) so that one is even more silent and a the ball output is even greater but we are talking about very slight differences but every layer the ball touches affects of course
