If you check the manual, adding 3 or more inputs limits the resolutiones to 1080p 60hz. It has nothing to do with the source. I have this and am disappointed with the multi-view experience, however using it as one large screen with fancy zones works really well

Would it be a good monitor for software development? I'm currently using Dell 43" 4k monitor and text close to edges is difficult to read. How is the readability at 100% on this one? Also, can you attach that connection box to the back of display? Hate having another box taking space on the desk.

Not a fan of seeing this @2:38 I just ordered one have to wait a few days to go pick it up. I was planning on setting up dual inputs and then set the resolutions to 3840x1080 [half of the display] and my HOPE was or is I will then have one on the top and one on the bottom. Both being 32:9 but both still not using more then the displays base resolution.

How can you somehow make half the screens resolution increase to 4ķ when the resolution of the full resolution of the monitor is 4k. That just doesn't make sense. You occupied half the screen, so no matter what, you were at half the resolution. So I see no hindrance to why you could not also create a separate ultra wide on top...

I have a Samsung 49" ultra-wide and can't decide between grabbing a 57" ultra to double stack them, or to grab an Arc and use it in vertical mode with the 49" below. Not sure if it would fit below the Arc stand though.

Hi Michael, Your issue is a limitation of the built in multiplexer. Every time you split the screen, you half your available data bandwidth rate to each display. The unit cannot see multiple displays and run them at the maximum refresh rate. It has to match the refresh rate of each individual input Independently of each other. You have to calculate it as a multiplication of your screen refresh rate. To run 3 screens at 120hz, you would need a total hypothetical refresh rate of 360 hertz to achieve what you want. This very much exceeds the limitation of the monitors total bandwidth. It works like this for this monitor; 1 screen = 165hz 2 screens = 120hz each 3 / 4 screens = 60hz each Btw. I like that you are putting this kind of content out there to show the real world use instead of stating the headline specs followed by an unboxing then some gameplay. your video is much more informative then some other channels out there. thanks.

Thanks for the technical breakdown Daniel! I assume we can get 2 screens since the max is 240hz so 120hz * 2? Ultimately I wish Samsung would publish this data more publicly. The refresh rate at 3/4 screens isn't a huge issue at 60hz, but the latency is the real killer.

When you configure to have two video inputs at the same time, is it possible to have them both like two 'ultrawide' images piled up? I mean one input shown on 1 and 2 quadrants and second input shown on 3 and 4

Some people paid $CAD 3500 in Canada and all it does better than my $700 50" TV is it can run at 120 Hz (Yes $700 TV also allow you to connect two devices simultaneously, but not 4). Seriously, for this price range, this monitor should provide way more than what it does right now. I feel like Samsung is getting lazy and may be threatened by the competitors soon...

Wrong. At the time of release almost no TVs had HDMI 2.1 This did. It has undoubtedly faster response and clearly as stated faster refresh at 165hz. It was bigger. It had a curve (helps with gaming immersion). It probably had better colour accuracy (I'll bet money on it). It probably had more PPI. It had a "cock pit mode" which is actually a valuable feature for most that buy this. It probably had future proofing your TV doesn't have. It probably has a first party panel IE not bought in from a lesser stock from Samsung as LG an Samsung are truly the only viable panel makers. This also means it comes with proprietary software and features to enhance the image. Shall I continue? Listen bro, I get ya. It's not for you. But I would wager your 700 Dollar pile of crap could have been as good as a 200 Dollar pile of crap and you wouldn't have known. The reason I say this is because that price range is 9/10 an idiot trap. My LG C4 was over a grand and it was the best TV that year. The next legitimate tier down at the time would have a range from 300 to 900 Dollars and each TV would have been near identical. The price is irelavent. The specs decide a TV /monitors value and I bet your 700 range TV would have absolutely been a similar spec to a 300 Dollar TV bro.

Splitting refresh rates is a monitor function. They have to drop the refresh rate as you split the screen into multiple inputs, and it’s always by half. 240Hz split into two screens becomes 120Hz, a further division into 3 or 4 becomes 60Hz. This isn’t going to be fixed with software or firmware. It’s a panel limit.

Hmm Dream idea, but I'm sad to read about the multi view issues. I think I might just opt for a good TV above my regular monitors. I also think the curve might be a bit too aggressive if I was to sit back on my bed about 5 metres from the wall to play a console game or watch a movie.

Great video, I love the idea of this monitor, but the lack of customization for such a screen advertised to have so much customization seems shady and the drop down to 60hz seems dodgy too when your pc, your console and the macbook can all support 120hz, ps5 has a max refresh of 120hz

That's the perk. It's not hiding anything. It does nearly the best of both and for the best you are paying close to this EACH anyway. What TV is doing 244hz? None. 165 is peak. But then what console is doing 4k 120? None. At the the time this and only a handful of TVs supported HDMI 2.1 soooooo. What T.V.is running competive response times? Nearly zero. What monitor is running that TV height or immersion? None. What monitor has TV colour accuracy for movies IN OLED FORMAT! Nearly zero. Yeah mate this is just a random hodge podge of parts left over, derp. It's actually a one size fits all premium piece of kit.

The world is being scammed by overpriced hardware…this is the way. The hardware is just running software anyway. Few people can figure this out but the stage pianos go out of date this controller stays relevant for longer. Now nord is buying this action and charging you 5k.

Nord isn't buying this action they are buying a cheaper plastic action. Yes stage pianos go out of date if the action is slightly below par but if you buy one with an action that is top of range then it will not as you can always use it as a midi controller like this as stage pianos now come with usb midi to use as midi controllers.

Where do you get a 47" OLED monitor for $800 or $900??? I can find a 34" Alienware ultrawide on sale for $800, or a 34" MSI ultrawide for $900, and another MSI model on sale for $900. Closer to the target, I did find a LG 48GQ900-B 48" Ultragear UHD OLED gaming monitor on sale for $985, which is the closest I found to a $800 or $900 47" monitor, but it was on sale for 34% off the original price of $1,500. LG has their 48" OLED evo C3 currently marked down $400, giving it a price tag of $1,000. Perhaps you were giving an incredibly rough estimate regarding the cost when it goes on sale?? I don't know, but if you did, or ever do, decide to inform your audience of an item when on sale, please mention that the price you are stating is the expected cost of said item when it goes on sale Also, when you mentioned the 47" OLED for around $800 or $900, were you speaking of monitors or TVs? If you were referencing a television, then you might want to mention that you are talking about a TV, and not a monitor because you are mentioning this in the outro of a video where you reviewed a monitor, and spent the majority of the video talking about monitors, and the aspects thereof. Without clarifying that you are talking about the price of a television, most people will assume that you were estimating a price for a monitor.

Im planning on using that vertically with 3 screens and i imagine looking up for the third screen for hours would destroy my neck. So i was thinking that it would be awesome if it was possible to put this thing vertically and tilt it as close to getting the upper part (where the 1 of 3 screens would be) in a normal angle so that my head's not constantly looking towards the ceiling. Thank you for this video

Erm no?! You want A TV! with better monitor specs than that? Ultra wide is ass for gaming and movies. because as a FULL screen it doesn't give the same immersion as the increased height of a TV. It's also less viable having to look into the corners at HUD elements. It's objectively making you worse as a "competitive" gamer. As a multi task unit, this monitor is king. Maybe not to the same degree as the G9 55"? I Believe. But it's absolutely in that same arena and damn close to it. Multi task set ups DO NOT CARE ABOUT refresh, response time or other gamer features. But this has them still, ANNNND it has better immersion because of the height. For gaming, it's a better angle than the ultra wides, almost as fast response and nearly top end refresh. If you ONLY want the absolute best then ofc you go with a 32" 1080p beast to compete. If you want gaming or film immersion then you are going to go with a G4 EVO 77" at the cost of response, refresh and picture in picture. But yet again this monitor has features of all of these AT THE TOP LEVEL. You are absolutely dreaming if you expect a pro gamer CS.GO 1080p speed monitor, multi task monster and immersion display to be in one package. However, I'll say this again, this does all of them at near the top end. What this reviewer is essentially asking for is compartmentalized refresh rates on the panel which doesn't exist. What idiot any is running a PS5 then complaining his gaming PC screen is running at 60fps at the same time. You aren't playing both so it's a "problem" for the sake of finding one. TURN THE PS5 OFF IF YOU ARE GAMING ON PC! Multi task users PC displays will use one PC input and use THE FULL SCREEN and move tabs to a desired location. A console gamer will/may have a PC open for guides or streaming or watching KZfaq and the console in another picture running at 60 or 120, whichever the console desires. Or it will be full screen for immersion. I mean if you are seriously complaining that KZfaq in the background is running at 60 or in nost cases 120 fps. You have bigger issues irl. I'm not even trying to be mean. The guy already said he could use a G9. well if you play console as well THIS IS BETTER! The only issue feom the V1 Ark was the fact you couldn't do PC and console picture in picture This has been fixed. This monitor is an absolute beast FOR THOSE that can utilize it. If you are a first time golfer, you wouldn't buy a 15 grand set of golf clubs because you won't use them properly. This from ny research IS the defacto one size fits all. It isn't for 244hz Red Dead or GTA 5 modded to fk PC snobs that can't see a difference anyway. It isn't for the die hard movie buffs. That ONLY care about perfect colour and screen size at 20 fps. It isn't for the next 0.3ms response 244hz "pro Fortshite" player making it on Twitch. It isn't for the ULTIMATE single player console user or "all the gear no idea dad" that wants to flex. But if you value ALL those things at a tend end but not THE ABSOLUTE PEAK then quite literally nothing beats this. This is all objective fact.

I'd love it if I could stack two 32:9 ultrawide monitors on top of one another, that's really the only reason I'd want this monitor. My work setup right now is I have two G9s stacked on top of one another and I like that setup for the screen real estate but having the two monitors isn't exactly ideal sometimes (they take FOREVER to load anything on the screen). Sometimes I want to be able to view things in a larger format or I want to have a bit more freedom in how I want to display my monitors which I think the Ark would give me but at the moment it seems a little too limited for me to drop the money on it. Let me know if you figure out how to stack the virtual monitors on top of one another.

Would p-i-p mode allow a random sizing of the second input? That way maybe the main input can have one full screen and second input (picture in picture) can adjusted to 32:9 manually? Samsung really needs to upgrade it is screen sizing for multi input mode.
