You can also swap out the mag well with the 5.56 part to accept AR mags.

You shouldnt feed bullets with a mauser action like you did with your last few shots.

All good but I would have liked to know what caliber was being shot at each point as a comparison. "Gunshot sound" does not really let the viewer know what is being fired, when.

young fella should have gone the head for the last 180 and held right to compensate. 4 shot group showed it was needing adjusted right. i would have also had a 1" high at 100 so zero at 200. but that's a hunting POI style. they need to stretch the legs on those 6.5's too. 180M is a start nthough

The 783 is a excellent rifle. I have 2 actions and 10 barrels. It shoots as good as my 700s and easy barrel changes.

I've had my 783 in .270 now for about 8 years. She comes in at 9lbs on the nose fully loaded with the Leupold scope & sling. Off the top of my head, I have about a dozen deer on it. Almost all heart shots. I learned with my buddy's family's Remington 7400 in .270 so when it was time to get my first rifle, that's what I went with. Now he says I'm a surgeon with mine. I named her "Formality" because if I see something in the woods here in New York, I'm going to be dragging it out. Nice real world test and good job matching the pumpkins to the saw horse legs! 😄

All y’all frothen over the 223 bolt 🙄 For bug out situation, although I understand the limitations in Australian law, but do you actual want to use a straight pull or bolt action… you would be better off using a mag fed lever action which comes in a variety of low to high calibre options, they also have buck shot rounds too! It would let off an extra round quicker than you could with a straight pull or bolt A semi auto pistol would be a viable option too. Not only is it easy to carry and use, but it is ideal for close quarters, especially when you can carry more mags and reload faster than that of a rifle. You can argue that 9mm is not powerful enough, but it will put holes in something a lot quicker than a fucking rifle, and if stoping power is another argument, than the 45acp puts ‘‘em down.
