Governments are so stupid. They constantly complaining of having too less funds for this and that while taxing us into oblivion, but never reuse good stuff. All that basketball-rings, lamps and so on and so on are good. They are just too lazy to organize the disassembling. This really needs to change.

Looks like the hose should have been set to spray a wider pattern to try to minimize the dust. You can see by the exposed lath that the house had plaster walls rather than sheetrock, which probably accounts for all the dust.

How much of that could have been salvaged? I see big windows and wooden doors that could have been reused.

Creo que deben de dejar de desperdiciar productos, hay que detener la contaminacion o pasara lo que ha sucedido en muchos estados de EUA, tornados mortales, inundaciones y calor intolerable.

Now that everything is digital, banks don't need vaults any longer. The few hundred they keep on hand can fit in the manager's wallet. You have to special order cash for withdrawal these days and answer a hundred questions as to why you want it.

Can't remember the last time I was ever in a bank branch. 20 years maybe. Vaults are always a fright and hated going to my deposit box. As much as everyone talks about it, reusing and recycling really does not exist and no one really gives a hoot about the environment. So off to the landfill with all that. Bank buildings are difficult at best to remodel into something else. We will be seeing far fewer banks branches in the future as most people bank online. The buildings are fairly useless now and remember at least in Florida growing up, a bank on every corner.

I always thought these american shops were made out of concrete, judging the rather "classical" design from the outside and use of bricks. I was surprised how quickly it was torn down. One tornado and it's gone.

Here in Europe, demolishing companies doing a much more precise job with the excavator to limit the amount of landfill. They do all the recycling at the wrecking site (separating wood, cabling, metal, insulation…) Of course this takes a lot longer and a highly skilled operator. Yes, it is not as “spectacular” as this footage but I’m a bit chocked that this “method” of demolition is still allowed in the US.

When I used to do demo we would rip everything out sell what we can. All metal went to scrap all concrete and brick got crushed and sold as aggregate the only stuff we would haul to the dump was the building materials not salvage able. You can do demo in a way that makes a good deal of money on top of the contract.
