For context Derek Lee had just come back from a broken wrist. And the ball hit that wrist. Hence why he was so upset

Hey, Man. First of all, congrats on your material, as it brings back quite the memories and it's been really helpful in filling some historical voids. And on that note, you think that it'd be possible to use some clips of it for educational, researching and custom purposes? It'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The rumor on this one was that Young said, "If you think that was intentional, you're as blind as your daughter." Considering Lee's personality and the way his body language chamges when he says, "What?" then throws the punch, I'm inclined to believe it was something real bad that was said.

In the Sixties and Seventies many considered Tom Landry of the Cowboys to be Footballs biggest "Outside The Box" thinker. You could argue that Hank Strams ideas were even more advanced in their concepts than Landry. Nearly every play had a shift of some sort. The defense was even more radical with his "Triple Stack Formation." While Stram was a complete conformist in terms of dress, he was as radical as the decade he coached in. Not only was Lamar Hunt the glue that held the AFL together, he was cutting edge in everything he did. Just as they are now, the Chiefs had awesome talent and great coaching. Race was never an issue, as it was in the Lily White NFL of that period. A great man that took the game to new heights under his guidance.

Elwin 38 is absolutely spot on. In 1963 the American Football League became a viable force. No other League in American Sports History had such solidarity. The AFL owners were "The Eight Musketeers." Imagine Bills owner Ralph Wilson loaning $400,000 to Raiders owner Wayne Valley to keep his team afloat. What owner would do that now?!! Lamar Hunt moving his Texans to Kansas City was another brilliant move. Hunt knew the team and League would flounder if his team remained in Dallas. Look at the success the Raiders and Chiefs enjoyed because these marvelous men put the League above their own selfish interests. Yet, the greatest success story of all was in New York City. The disastrous New York Titans were purchased by Entertainment Magnate David "Sonny" Werblin. Werblin helped engineer the huge Television deal with NBC. The next season he signed Joe Namath to a $400,000 contract that proved to be the best money ever spent in Professional Sports. As Steelers owner Art Rooney observed, "They don't have to call us 'Mister' anymore." While Lamar Hunt and Bud Adams were "Filthy Rich" Oil Millionaires, the other owners weren't so well heeled. Wilson, Adams and Hunt made sure that every team had an equal footing. The brilliant business sense and cohesiveness of the AFL owners has no peer in Professional Sports History. What Wayne Valley affectionately called "The Foolish Club," weren't so Foolish after all. The NFL owners should have been half as brilliant.

The Chargers had a cutting edge look to them. From their glorious uniforms to their high flying offense. The great coaching of Sid Gillman was another ironic twist. As a Jew, Gillman faced perpetual prejudice as a coach. After leaving the great Los Angeles Rams teams of the Fifties, he finally landed with the Chargers in the AFL. Combined with Al Davis, the two geniuses catapulted the Chargers to the top. The NFLs prejudice gave the AFL a decisive edge. In talent and in coaching.
