When I send the opening floor machine back to the original spot, it will always go again even if I don’t press the button so the floor never stays open. Any advice?

Might have to do with pulse length. Are you using a wooden or stone button?

Or...you could just use a copper bulb and have a comparator facing away from it. Then place a button on the copper bulb

True, the copper bulb is basically a one block t flip flop, so 1.21 kind of removes the need for them

Very cool i wish i understood redstone so i could make cool things myself. Been trying to design my own farms instead of following tutorials and it is very rewarding and fun so i appreciate how you didnt explain the more complicated version.

This is modded lol, fences don’t naturally stick together, the pulley system wouldn’t work in vanilla Edit : I am dead wrong, they’re using glass panes to push it back up, so that could work

Yeah it’s indeed an illusion using glass panes. Good that you didn’t spot it at first glance though, that means the design does what I was hoping 🙂
