Fantastic! Well done! I was cycling up Crawleyside and on Waskerly Way today, as part of a 125km loop round Teesdale and Weardale. It's nice to see you making a video of this area. There's loads of monster hills in the North Pennines!

Many thanks for posting this, it was very useful for our tour last week (should have been in Spring 2020 but ....). A couple of updates; you can now legitimately avoid your section with the electric fence behind Sant Joan as there's now some new sections up to Camprodon either side of the N260 / C-38. Across by the sea there are huge roadworks in Palafrugell which may last most of 2023 and there is a badly signed diversion. It was kind of you to underplay the route down into La Jonquera.

Your sense of humour made this a great video to watch, I cycle around Norfolk ,around the Broads ,and the marshlands ,which are flat as a pancake so the hills you climbed looked very scary, you get plagued by midges here as well ,…..I reckon it’s where your midges come on their holidays 😂

Did you bring a bike lock? How did you secure your bike overnight or when stopping for lunch?
@jonesyscyclevlogs9276
@jonesyscyclevlogs9276 2 жыл бұрын
The bike rental place gave me a bike lock, I never used it though. There tends not to be any crime the remoter you go. Just tried to stay hidden when wild camping and lay the bike on the floor or up against a tree or fence. It was very nearly dark every time I set up camp.

Great video! Thanks for sharing. Curious why you decided to ride toward Olot from Girona instead of riding the seaside first? Also, were you doing any camping on the trip? I am curious about those opportunities as I will also be riding this route.
@jonesyscyclevlogs9276
@jonesyscyclevlogs9276 2 жыл бұрын
Manual! Sorry for the late reply. I did the Olot route first as I preferred the idea of going into the mountains first and finishing along the seaside. As I imagined the seaside route to be easiest to begin with. I did not camp, but only because I couldn’t be bothered to bring my tent from the UK onto the plane. It would be better to camp, although, if camping you may miss out on getting the nice feelings of the small town life in the area, which I enjoyed. Having a little meal and a glass of wine on the town squares in the evening for example. I think camping is always better though. Did you end up doing the trip? How was it? I really want to do it again now I have better camera equipment haha 😆

Nice trip and lovely countryside. In 2002, I rode from South of Wales to the North ending up in Berwick and it was a rigorous climb in the Black Mountains. Apparently I hadn't read the part about steep climbs. Later on I took the train to Yorkshire and that was fun. I very much enjoyed the food, history, and rigorous riding. Even now I am thinking about one last ride in the UK. Great fun, maybe, even at 75.

Well done mate. I'm at Glassonby between Langwathby and Hartside (C2C Rt7). The Alston road's full of tossers on pocket rockets, all trying to take the bends at high speed. Arragons at Penrith is the dog's danglers and always helpful to cyclists.
