I must've done something wrong, but I can't find it. When I sort and try to put filler in the shown hopper, it fills into the chest and doesn't stay put in the hopper. :(

I'm glad that you have taken the time to listen to your body instead of just doing Minecraft just for the content. While I haven't experienced it myself, I at least somewhat know what it is like to force yourself to work just for thinks like content and I'm glad that your not falling down that trap! i followed it completely and it doesnt "drop" the lava bucket into anything all it does is moves the empty buckets into the hopper and drips lava not filling the buckets

I like the concept youve presented, but it needs a little polishing. Biggest issue is that this doesn't work with other sapling types other than oak. It would have been nice to know that early in the tutorial. There's also a bit of redundancy. You have us gather blocks. Several blocks you have us gather, such as the trap door, are never used. The hopper wasnt necessary. The first row of chiseled stone and spruce logs are underground and not visible. You also had us place a lot of blocks, only to remove them later in the tutorial to place the Redstone. In the end, the Redstone is exposed, which really clashes with the gorgeous build you designed. It also creates a structural issue. One misplaced water bucket and you'll have to redo the entire build. I would love to see you revisit this build in a new tutorial. I recommend expanding it to a 6x6 base so you don't have the Redstone exposed, and tailor the recipe so there aren't unused or redundant blocks. Thank you for uploading this. I was able to adapt it to make a lovely compact tree farm.

I made one in 1.20 and got a enchanted book and bow both with 3 enchantments My only problem is it barely catches anything But it might be different between java and bedrock as I play on bedrock

Sportskeeda linked to this from a "5 best ways to farm wood in 1.19" article.. So figured it likely worked on 1.19.. But I have two issues.. First is placing the sapling.. To place the sapling, I seem to have to jump up to be able to see the dirt block from on top and then place the sapling.. But it sounds like it should be possible to place sapling and chop wood from the same position/angle.. How does that work, and what position/angle is that? In the video, you still jump to position the first sapling, and the video seems to cut when you put in another. Related, from the position at the entrance, you don't have range to chop the upper part of the trees either.. I guess that might be intented and that you just grow a new tree underneath.. Second issue is that the dispenser suddenly stopped to dispense bone-meal.. I accidentally took out a redstone bit jumping up to place a sapling, and while I'm pretty sure I repaired it, it didn't start again.. Unless there's some strange order requirement of the redstone pieces being inserted, I guess I must have made some mistake there though.. As to the video, it would be very nice if it focused on how it worked.. The logs, planks, stairs and glass and so on are being positioned as if it mattered to the build what material you used to build the outer walls. Would be good to be able to distinguish about what needed to be correct types for the build to work, and what don't need to be the specific type. The trapdoor and door wasn't used in the build at all as far as I can see in the video, so I guess it doesn't matter if the unused trapdoor was an oak one or not ;D I liked how it is limited in size, and don't use that many components, but rather let you chop down the wood yourself, but jumping up to position sapling and having to hit exactly right to not remove a redstone dust, made it awkward for me..
