You're a mad man! That many minis in 3 weeks and change?! Hats off to you, sir. I think the camp follower women in the carts would be good if you can get them in (this way the Romans can hear the lamentations of the women). Nice save on the cavalry figure with the broken foot and messed up sword.

@TriariusWarGaming12 күн бұрын
Thanks! Mainly using the For King and Parliament Range of bases, they are ones that have a 60mm frontage. I believe it is the FK&P 6 base. For the war bands he sells base extenders which I stick on the back to give the war bands the needed extra depth.

Wow x2. First Wow, that's a lot of done stuff. Second Wow, that's a lot of stuff yet to do. How many figures do you reckon you're going to hammer out here in the next 4 weeks? I think the kitbash for the Germanic cavalry will work really well. Are you going to drive down to Historicon from New England? It seems like a lot to schlep around. Don't spend all your money at the vendor area. lol.
@TriariusWarGaming12 күн бұрын
Yeah driving down, the train would be nice but no way could carry all this stuff + terrain. The big stuff is some more German war bands, skirmishers, and the cav. The war bands are around 32-ish minis each, 12 cav, 24 skirmishers potentially, plus all the baggage and casualties, So a little over 200ish miniatures I would estimate.

Really good progress, with the deadline now approaching everything seems to be coming together very well This game should make a great impression at Historicon. Using the spare Victrix components on other plastic figures works very well, not only because they are of better quality, but because I find it helps to "tie in" the figures from the various other manufacturers with the Victrix ones.

I have only ever based 15mm figures for DBA but am currently painting 28mm dark ages figures and am really at a loss as to which size bases I should use for maximum playability. I love the irregular shapes of your bases and would like to have a go with them but just wondered how many different rulesets they will be able to use if based in this manner? I expect you have already mentioned this numerous times before but I would like to hear your slant on it and also by the way, how many figures you fit on each base for the various types of troops. Many thanks.
@TriariusWarGaming2 ай бұрын
For absolute maximum playability you would likely have to base singly, but I think it mainly depends on your situation. I think if you are mostly playing your own games, you can fit the rules to your basing with some creativity. Great idea for a video though. If you watch some of my lion rampant videos I play a ruleset for single figures with multi based figures. I plan on making a basing video though, great question and suggestion!

Looking good. Spacing out the more interesting figures in the front rank so that they can be seen better is a good idea. I think a combination of spaced out and closely packed figures in the same warband would work pretty well: Spacing out the front rank and then packing the second and third ranks in quite densely with a few stragglers spaced out in a rear rank. As well as allowing the interesting figures to be shown off better it also simulates how I think a barbarian warband would behave with the braver guys leading in front coming forward, the mass following but sticking together for mutual protection, and the less brave hanging back a bit in the rear.
