personality disorders affect trust in self-identity. if child was not allowed time / support to develop self reflection, results could be behavioral problems in child maturing into personality disorders clusteds a-b-c. intervention must be done before 25+ or adults become 'set in there ways' / succumb to addiction vices. 1:43

I appreciate this is an actress(a rather good one) playing this part, but imagine the fathers on the other side of this. They are in need of support just to deal with this type of anger and probably won't get it. Without good levels of understanding you are fighting a losing battle with compulsive mindreaders 9/10.

Although i am happy that those tools are being developed, on the other hand i cannot find how an intervention could take place to support these children as children that are in dysfunctional households are conditioned to not talk about the dysfunctions at home and are made to think that they deserve the treatment and the abusive experiences they go through at home. So how could you identify a child that needs such an intervention but is behaving like everything is normal(eg not showing signs that something is wrong)?

I'm not sure what he is trying to do here. He sort of steps into her world but only long enough to justify a teaching point (you are sensitive). Does that help anyone? I'm a believer that true, genuine empathy helps the client feel understood to the point that they find their own solutions, not preached to by a therapist about how they should be. What about asking the question: Does this feeling in the court remind you of another time in your life? Welcome the exploration, rather than 'should' it away.

Thats amazing, I never thought of it this way. I do talk to my Mum, its only been a month since she passed away. I talk to her about what we can do in the garden, what would she think if I did that. I talk to her about what to buy at the shops what to eat. I say goodmorning, I say goodnight. I think I am now in that unique group that understands what its like to lose a parent. You can talk about with children and adults but until you are on that side and experience it, you didn't have a clue what the child or adult was really going through until you experience it. I am an adult, now but sometimes I feel like a lost child. I will listen to those Beatles songs and try and just let it go Frozen, or Let it Be Beatles. They where woven into my childhood, my brother forever listening to them. Thank you David.

"Not only does activism give you distraction from your own life, but it also allows you to stop others being distracted from important issues." - Anna Freud A lot of radical activist suffer from depression, lowliness and feel isolated. You are exactly right, joining a group is a distraction from the your own life issues, even though these issues are important, likely the most important. To the people who glue themselves to thing, throw soup on beautiful works of art or shut down open and honest discussions about big issues... before you step out the door with your sign, take a look in the mirror and ask "I'm I ok?"

Wow. Just absolutely wow! I became interested in this sort of content to help someone in my life who just learned they had BPD because I want to better support them as they try to work through it and I feel knowledge is the only way for me to be able to do that. Gaining first-hand support seemed the most relevant way to help, but just seriously wow! This is something entirely different! I don't think I could even BEGIN to help someone who was so resolutely assured of delusional persecution like this! I mean, there is nothing or no one who could've ever convinced her that that woman WASN'T a malicious hell hound sent to personally ruin her life and was just a completely normal, unrelated woman doing her job, who probably never even spared her a second thought! She was utterly convinced she was placed there just to make her miserable! Even the counselor's attempt to empathize and relate to her position was attacked as an offensive insensitivity to her imagined oppression! Short of constant ingratiation, how do you even speak to someone who's so determined to be offended?? The first step to fixing a problem is acknowledging what the problem is, but how do you acknowledge it if no one is ever allowed to tell you what it is??

I was quite satisfied that you took a moment to recognize that we are the only primates who wear shoes. I was waiting for the other shoe to drop, lol... Edit: I love what you have to say about constitutional arousal, mentalization, and compounding feedback effects within a family structure or relationship. It's somewhat disheartening that intense attachment can cause a breakdown of mentalization. I want to deny it, but my life experience supports this assertion. How can we make space for emotional intimacy when the resulting attachment can sabotage the safe space required for that intimacy? Do healthier people have the ability to modulate attachment and vulnerability? How does this work?

Thank you so much for this video! I am struggling really bad right now. I'm not going to go into details but I was just injured financially and my vehicle is gone. I had so many things mounting up and was seeking counseling so, I would keep calling the crisis line..still am. I also knew I had so much to look forward too if I kept going in the right direction. My family was watching my progress. Anyways, I been admitted to the hospital lately. My nerves are so bad I feel like I am coming outside myself. When I finally got admitted and put in my room it turned into an utter disappointment. The doctor wrote that I had "personality disorder" but didn't explain any of that to me.

Bulls**t Schools should not be teaching mental health to children.. Schools are the problem these schools are nothing more than money making corporations more like a prison. Messing kids heads up keeping them in a low vibration it’s all part of the plan.. & Most teachers are non the wiser.
